Abstract

This research is aimed to investigate primary school teachers’ organizational commitment related with problems originated from managers. In the research, survey method is used, random sampling of 360 teachers was taken among the teachers working in the central districts of Diyarbakır Province. The data of the research were collected with Manager Originated Problems Scale (YKSÖ) and Organizational Commitment Scale (ÖBÖ). During reliability analysis, internal consistency coefficient of YKSÖ (Cronbach Alpha) is calculated as .95 and internal consistency coefficient of ÖBÖ (Cronbach Alpha) is calculated as .70. During analyze of the data, both percentage values and Kruskal-Wallis Test are used. To determine the source of difference when the difference is meaningful between the groups, Mann Whitney U- test is used to make dual comparisons. The analysis of the data is done using SPSS 16 software. In this research it’s found that teachers’ emotional and normative commitment decreases when the manager oriented problem level increases. The meaning of difference between emotional and normative commitment levels is because of the difference between the groups based on manager oriented problems. As a result of the research, it is determined that the amount of manager originated problems are affecting first level primary school teachers’ organizational commitment.
