It surrounds the Bronze Age mound. It is a large city-palace that stretches from the lake shore – even from the islands in the lake – to the Anamas Mountain and holds tens of constructions. Kubad-Abad, built upon the request of the Mighty Ruler Alaeddin Keykubat the First in 1235, is one of the best preserved palaces of Medieval Anatolian Turkish Period. It possesses a large spectrum of finds, such as ceramic tiles, glass, gypsum items, coins, seals, metal items, which are striking specimens of the period. The least known among these are the metal finds. Ornaments and clothing items attracted a great deal of attention in publications associated with metal productions of Anatolian Seljuk Period upon which our knowledge is fairly limited. Ideal examples of jewelleries particularly made of golden and silver attained a place both in catalogues of museums and special collections. The ornaments and clothing items discussed here in are examples produced from mostly bronze or iron materials with the exception of a few items made productions of silver. The Kubad-Abad Palace social complex (külliye) from which the afore mentioned items were obtained is amongst the oldest but on-going excavations pertaining to the Medieval Turkish Period. The metal findings of Kubad-Abad Palace recognizable with world-embracing ceramics gain a repertory, among which ornaments and clothing items are in a limited number. In this paper, a total of 29 items acquired during the excavations of Kubad-Abad Palace in the period between 1981 and 2009 are introduced.},author={Alptekin YAVAŞ},year={2013},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science Studies}}
