Abstract

Most of the studies carried out in Religion Sociology, history of which based on a very close date ,have theoretical context. However, nowadays it has been emphasized more on the experiental aspect of Sociology of Religion. Because Sociology of Religion, subject of which is focusing on the research of the truth, is not a standardized science. The truth is dynamic. Also religion is not static, it is the most active phenomena of the living society. Thus, in this study, a field study has been carried out using experimental methods. The study aims to analyze the moral folk beliefs on the perspective of Sociology of Religion in Dişli town, depending on Bolvadin, district of Afyon located on the passageways between Central Anatolia Region and Aegean Region. The study, in the framework of rapidly changing and differing world conditions by the technological developments, mainly focuses on revealing changes occuring in the moral folk beliefs in parallel with these developments.The study has been carried out in a small accommodation unit to reveal pointing to the effect of the change even in the smallest settlements, however it tries to emphasize that moral folk beliefs are still able to continue their effectiveness in human life decreasingly. In this study having theoretical and practical dimensions, firstly, Dişli town which is the study area, has been tried to introduced , the town has been analyzed socio-cultural, economic and religious aspects. Second, moral folk beliefs in various stages of life in the town has been identified and findings which have been obtained from the field about the subject and interpretation of these findings have been mentioned.
