Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the educational subjects that preschool teachers working in the state schools need and to reveal how these subjects intensify according to some variables. In this research, “survey of identification of the needs of preschool teachers in inservice training” was applied to 90 preschool teachers working in preschools and nursery classes dependent on primary schools in central districts in İstanbul in 2012-2013 academic year. The survey was developed by getting authority views and reviewing the litearature by the researchers. In the end of the research, it was seen that % 48,9 of the preschool teachers needed inservice programmes: “the characteristics of the children needing special education” (gifted children, learning disability) and “early intervention programmes”. Under the scope of generel subjects, it was found that % 52,2 of the preschool teachers needed “National and International Project Preparation Techniques” (European Projects etc.). In addition, whether there was a significant relation between service years and inservice training programmes was analyzed by chi-square test. As a result, significant relation was found and it was revealed that the preschool teachers having 11 and more service years need preparation studies for literacy “much”.
