Abstract

Language is, briefly, a means of communication among people. Dialect, on the other hand, is a regional way of speaking that shows differences in terms of phonetics, morphology, and meaning. Dialects are significant sources that exhibit the past characteristics of a language and the changes in the vernacular of the same language over time. A dialect is set as a standart language so that all the speakers in the language can understand each other. As the technology develops, it becomes more difficult to study dialects. The fact that the standard language reaches to even remote villages because of the TV and the Internet, and the immigration from countryside to the urban area are one of the main challenges facing dialect studies.
