A survey research methodology was employed in the current study. The working group consists a total of 416 prospective classroom teachers who were studying in different class level at a university in the Western Black Sea region in the fall semester 2015-2016 academic years. Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale and Learning Approaches Scale were used for the data collection tool. SPSS 17 was used to analyze data. Important findings which was obtained from the study: (1) emotional intelligence scores has changed according to gender in a significant effect, (2) emotional intelligence scores has changed according to class level in a significant effect, (3) learning approach scores has changed according to gender in a significant effect, (4) learning approach scores has not changed according to class level in a significant effect, (5) significant positive relationship between the total mean score of emotional intelligence and optimism factor and the total mean score of learning approach was observed.
