In this study; hotel names which is located at Fatih District near the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, the biggest city in Turkey, were investigated. The Blue Mosque is one of the attractions of Istanbul which is known as the face of the country. In such places, the right practices for language will contribute to the promotion of Turkish language and culture. This situation; the positive effect that should be provided by foreign names given by the wrong, sloppy, or any kind of anxiety, leads to a turmoil and pollution. The names of such hotels, dining halls and cafes around these places are extremely important for the use and promotion of the Turkish language. Regardless of the reason, due to the mistakes and insensitivity in the selection of business names, this important touristic region is being forced to host a new problem that Turkish should deal with while the Turkish language can be considered as an exemplary area of use. It is observed that most of the enterprises (especially hotels) in the selected region are named with foreign names. This situation is inevitable to cause language pollution. Sheltering places, one of our most important needs in our daily lives, causes a serious language problem as a result of the indifference in their nomenclature.
