Abstract
Toplum tarafından insanlara biçilen ve atfedilen roller gereği her insan belirli bir mesleği yapmaya yönlendirilir. Toplum içerisinde var olma gereksinimi hisseden insan, kendiside bir mesleğe yönelme arayışı içerisinde olacaktır. Ailesinden, çevresinden, aldığı eğitimden etkilenen bireyler, kendilerine en uygun olan mesleğe yönelirler. Ancak toplum içerisinde bazı meslekler, bireylerin geneli tarafından tercih edilirken; bazı meslekler ise çoğu kimse tarafından tercih edilmezler. Tercih edilmeme sebepleri arasında işin zorluğu, iş garantisi olmaması, ücretinin azlığı gibi başlıca sebepler sayılabilir. Bireyler yaptıkları işlerin zorluğundan genel olarak yakınırlar ve daha rahat yapabilecekleri işleri tercih etme eğilimi gösterirler. Bu çalışma da, toplumdaki diğer meslek grupları tarafından en fazla eleştirildiği düşünülen öğretmenliğin ve öğretmenlik mesleği hakkında, diğer meslek gruplarında çalışanların ne düşündüklerinin öğrenilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplamak amacıyla Özgür (1994) tarafından geliştirilen "Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin gerekli geçerlik güvenirlik çalışmaları yapılmış ve ölçeğin Cronbach Alfa güvenirlik katsayısı 0,94 bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda araştırmaya katılanların ölçek maddeleri üzerinde gerekli işaretlemeleri yaptıktan sonra sayfa sonunda kalan boşluklara "öğretmenlerin tatili çok fazla, sürekli tatil yapılan bir meslek, öğretmenler öğrencilere eğitim veremiyorlar, aldıkları maaşı hak etmiyorlar, derse geç giriyorlar, öğrencilerle fazla ilgilenmiyorlar, dersleri biter bitmez okuldan ayrılıyorlar" gibi yazılar yazdıkları görülmüştür. Bu gibi bulgular, uzman yardımlarına da başvurularak yordanmış ve çalışma sonunda bir takım sonuç ve önerilere gidilmiştir.

Abstract
The people address to a profession with respect to attributed roles to them by the society. They will be in search of a profession so as to survive in the society. They address the most appropriate professions to their personalities being affected by the education taken from their families and closes. However, although many professions are generally preferred, many of them are not preferred. They are the reasons of their not choosing as working conditions, guarantee and low income etc. They generally complain about the workloads of the profession and they address the most ease ones. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the beliefs of people working in other jobs towards teaching profession which is mostly criticized by many other professions. For this purpose, it was employed “attitude scale towards teaching profession” developed by Özgür (1994) as a data collecting tool. As a result of reliability and validity process, it was found the Cronbach alfa to be 0.94. After rating the scale, it was seen that participants wrote many statements such as "holiday opportunity in this job, a job making lots of holiday, teacher cannot train the students, they do not deserve the money that they get, they are late for the course, they are not interested in students, and they leave quickly after the courses." These statements were predicted and then many suggestions were given.
