Abstract

Verse texts, are most complex ones in artistic works which have literary text title because they have aesthetic tastes and artistic concerns. This complex structure of verse texts complicates correct reception and interpretation of these texts. Due to Classical Turkish poetry verse texts’ presentation of different cultural codes in the pattern of unique images and metaphors, this approach deepens more the complex structure. As a projection of God’s reflection on existence, Classical poems reflected most of expressed situations by valorization of the real. This sometimes realized as signifying to the real and sometimes fictionalized as giving the impression of the signified that signifiers evokes. In this state, Classical Turkish Poetry verse texts, present a quality of being signifiers and signifieds poetry. Although every discipline has unique methods and assessment criteria, the exploration of literary text that is a problem in its own, requires collaboration of inter disciplinary acquisitions and practices with the scientific mentality that is in question. Due to Classical Turkish Poetry’s formation approaches, semiotics, as like many other linguistic analyses methods and modern text analyses methods, has efficacy to evaluate Turkish Poetry verse texts in a healthy and plain way. Semiotics, although it is functional on almost every verse or prose texts, most of the analyses studies by this method are done on stories or prose texts. In this article, analyses of a ghazal, which has a different structure created by 15. Century Classical Turkish Poetry unique poem Şeyhî, is done in the means of semiotic.
