Abstract

In this study was aimed to determine that social studies preservice teacher in elementary social studies curriculum (6th and 7th classes) the opinions of the values. Research , 2010-2011 academic year in the spring, executed participating in a voluntary survey conducted with 70 teachers rather than Ahi Evran University Faculty of Education Social Studies Education department 125 preservice teachers in the last year of studying. Research a qualitative study consisting of a structured interview form which consisted an open-ended questions. Content-analysis was applied in analyzing the data.The purpose of this study is to determine Social Studies preservice teachers’ opinions about on values and value education in the social studies curriculums.Social Studies preservice teacher identified by this general purpose, the following questions were asked;What is value? and 6th and 7th classs direct gains of the social studies curriculum (fairness, peace, science, diligence, sensitivity, integrity, aesthetics, respect, responsibility, patriotism and philanthropy) separately for each of 11 values;What is it?, Why are taught?, Seek ways in which the value in teaching?, What are the factors that are effective in bringing the value?.According to results of study teacher candidates have emphasized that; The concept of value is
