Abstract

The purpose of this study is investigating the views about project preparing process of mathematics teacher candidates that perform high success at Instructional Technology and Material Development (IT&MD) course. In this study, open ended questionnaires, one of qualitative data collecting techniques, was used. This is a descriptive study due to revealing the existing situation. Inductive content analyze method was used to analyze data. According to the obtained data, candidate mathematics teachers use criterions that are not only in but also out of directives of professor; prepare project in a planned way and step by step; study a long period (more than 2 weeks) and remedy according to feedbacks of friends. Considering these results, some recommendations were presented such as creativity criterion can be brought to the fore, successful projects can be exhibited in education faculty and shared with needed schools, students that attend primary 4th-8th levels can be required to prepare a selective projects through favorite subject once a year at schools and some researches can be held to determine the causes of failure for IT&MD course, the directives to prepare and the criterion to evaluate projects.
