Abstract

The essay has the purpose of examining Turkish-Iraq relations towards oil politics after The Gulf War. The essay points out politics and conflicts between Turkey and Iraq in particular, towards their oil strategies. Middle East Region has had political and economical importance for communities and states since the beginning of history. Turkey wants to increase its weight in The Middle East. Therefore, Turkey established new policies about the region and started using elements of Foreign policies actively. Considering the geographical proximity and historical connection, Turkey had attempts to establish an impact on the states of the region. In the essay, Turkey’s approaches and elements of foreign policy to Iraq are mentioned towards Turkey’s regional politics of oil and politics of energy after The Gulf War. Iraq is one of the most important states of The Middle East with their underground sources and internal instability. Wars and internal instability create problems for state politics and disable Iraq’s improvement. Iraq’s points of view at Turkey after the Gulf War are also one of the topics examined in the essay. In that sense, Turkey-Iraq relations have progressed inconsistently. Overall, first, assessment of the oil strategy is studied in the essay. After that, examples of Turkey- Iraq relations towards oil strategies are presented. At last, dimension and trade volume changes in accordance with the foreign politics course are exampled on a historical platform.
