THE FUNCTION OF LİTERATURE İN THE INTEGRATION AND CONTRACTION PROCESS OF TURKISH WORLD

Abstract

Today, there are seven independent Turkish states as Turkish Republic, Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic, Azerbaijan Republic, Kazakhstan Republic, Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan Republic and Türkmenistan Republic. in addition to these independent Turkish states, including the Autonomous Turkish Republics and the Turks living in other states in various geographical settings, it is likely to assert that 230-250 millions of Turks live all over the world. Since the time the Turkish Republics started to gain their independence, they have adopted a number of military, political, economical, cultural and sportive cooperation. However, recent political and socioeconomic developments in the world show that the expectations could not be met ideally, in spite of the good will efforts among Turkish states and communities. Certainly, the limitations in achieving the desired level have a number of reasons. İt seems that, limitations in providing the unification of emotions, ideals, and in broader terms, culture form the base for these reasons. The social function of literature can be utilized in the provision of cultural unity. Literature, culture carrier and transmitter has in terms of being a important power. Many verbal and written products of the Turkish world can be effectively transmitted to the Turks living in different geographies through literature.This study aims at stating that the integration and contraction among Turkish states and communities will be faster and long lasting by benefiting from the effect of literature in forming common feelings, excitement and unification, as literature is an art of language.
