Abstract
Gelenek ve görenekler, örf ve adetler, inanç ve uygulamalar toplumların folklorik değerlerinden olup aynı zamanda da kültürel kodlarını oluşturur. Bir topluluğu veya bir milleti anlamada, tanımada ve tanımlamada kültürü oluşturan bu kültürel zenginlikler büyük öneme sahiptir. Sosyal hayatın içerisinde insanları bir araya getirmesi, eğitim veya kültürün gelecek kuşaklara aktarılarak eğitilmesi, toplumsal değerlere ve törelere destek vermesi aynı zamanda eğitime yönelik yöntem ve mekanizmaları bünyesinde barındırması folklor ürünlerinin en önemli işlevlerindendir. Kültürel zenginliklerimizden olan düğünlerimiz ve düğünlerin bir bölümünü oluşturan bazı merasimler bu folklor ürünleri arasında yer alır. Sosyo-kültürel değişimlerin ve dönüşümlerin yaşandığı günümüzde geleneksel düğün ve merasimlerin yaşatılmaya çalışıldığı yerlerden biri de Şabanözü ilçesidir. Bu uygulamalar çerçevesinde “güveyi başı donatma merasimi” önemli bir yer tutar. Şabanözü halk kültüründe “güveyi başı donatma merasimi”, kendine özgü geleneksel kurallar ve uygulamalar dâhilinde bir izleyici karşısında belli deyişlerle temsili olarak giydirilmesidir. Düğünün son günü yapılan bu merasim deneyimli biri tarafından yönetilerek güvey başı donatılır. Bu sırada anonim olan ve zamanla değişikliğe uğradığı görülen deyişler söylenir. Yöre halkının dünya görüşü ve yaşama biçimine ait izlerin yer aldığı bu deyişler adeta bir ibadet neşvesi içinde dinlenir ve deyiş aralarında Hz. Muhammed’e salâvat getirilir. Bu çalışmada unutulmaya yüz tutmuş uygulamalardan “geleneksel güveyi başı donatma” merasimini işlevsel halk bilimi kuramının “eğitim ve kültürün gelecek kuşaklara aktarılması, gelenek ve törelere destek olması” çerçevesinde değerlendirilecektir.
