Abstract
Külekçilik ahşap malzemeden kap, kacak yapma zanaatıdır. Anadolu’da bitki örtüsünün ormanla kaplı olduğu birçok bölgede, özellikle Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde külekçilik zanaatının farklı uygulamalarına rastlamak mümkündür. Batı Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde yer alan Kastamonu ilinin Daday ilçesinde de son demlerini yaşayan külekçilik zanaatı, en özgün haliyle birkaç yaşlı usta tarafından icra edilmektedir. Yılların vermiş olduğu yorgunluğu üzerinde taşıyan bedenler, bu zanaatı icra edecek gücü artık kendilerinde bulamamaktadır. Bu zanaatı gerçekleştirebilecek güçte olan son birkaç usta ise, külekçilik zanaatı ürünlerine olan ihtiyacın azalması ve eski ilginin gösterilmemesi gibi nedenlerden ötürü üretim yapmamaktadırlar. Bu yüzden külekçilik zanaatı her geçen gün unutulmaya bir adım daha yaklaşmaktadır. Daday’da sadece birkaç usta tarafından sipariş üzerine özgün boyutlarda ve kullanıma uygun yapımı çok azda olsa devam eden külekçilik zanaatı ekonomik ve sosyal şartlardaki değişikliklerden dolayı ekonomik bir değer üreten meslek olmaktan çıkmıştır. Bu zanaat kolunun artık kültürel değeri ön plana çıkmaktadır. Üniversitelerin meslek yüksekokulları, halk eğitim merkezleri veya bazı meslek edindirme atölyeleri bünyesinde açılacak kurslarda yetişecek ustalarla bu mesleğin kültürel anlamda devamlılığı sağlanabilir. Geleneksel yöntemlerle küçük boyutlarda üretilecek bu el zanaatı ürünleri turistik eşya olarak kültür turizmi açısından bir ekonomik değere dönüştürülebilir. Bu durum yöre insanı için yeni bir istihdam alanı yaratmakla birlikte ata yadigârı bu zanaatın gelecek nesillere ulaşmasını da sağlamış olacaktır.

Abstract
Wooden pottery is an art of making artefacts from wood. It is possible to see this type of art in many parts of Anatolia where the flora is covered with forest, especially in Black-Sea Region it is possible to run into different types of wooden pottery. Heading for the last roundup in Daday, Kastamonu in the west of Black-Sea Region, the art of wooden pottery is being rendered by some old craftsmen with its most unique form. The bodies bearing the fatigue of the years do not have the power to run this job, any longer. Some of the last craftsmen do not run this job because of the reasons such as the decrease of need and interest toward this art of work. For that reason, the art of wooden pottery is becoming much closer to be forgotten day by day. Despite of its low production, the art of wooden pottery that is being made to order by some craftsmen in Daday in unique and suitable dimensions for use is no longer an occupation that produces economic value because of the changes in economic and social conditions. The branch of this type of art work shows its cultural value hereafter. The continuation of this art can be provided by the craftsmen that would be educated in some courses that can be run within the scope of vocational workshops, vocational schools of the universities and public education centres. These hand-made art works that would be produced in small dimensions by traditional methods can be transformed into economic value as souvenirs in terms of cultural tourism. This situation will enable an access for this heirloom to the next generations besides creating a new employment area for the inhabitants.
