Abstract
Uluslararası İlişkiler (Uİ) disiplinin inşasının üzerinden neredeyse bir asır geçmiş olmasına rağmen bugün disiplindeki en güncel tartışmalardan biri, Uİ’nin gerçek bir disiplin olup olmadığına ilişkindir. Bu çalışma, disiplinin varlığı ve karakteriyle ilgili yürütülen güncel tartışmaları referans alarak, tartışmaların disiplinde sürekli vurgulanan epistemik, ontolojik ve metodolojik temellerin dışında ihmal edilmiş aksiyolojik temellerden kaynaklandığını ileri sürmektedir. Bu nedenle disiplinin bugününe ilişkin tartışmalar onu inşa eden aksiyolojik temellere ilişkin motivasyonlardan, gerekçelerden ve ortamdan bağımsız olarak analiz edilmemelidir. Disiplinin ontolojik ve epistemik temellerini şekillendiren “değerler” üzerinden bir okuma yapılırsa, disiplinin bugünü ve geleceğine ilişkin pek çok tartışmada yeni yollar, yeni arayışlar bulunabilir. Çalışmada öncelikle disiplinin son dönemde karşı karşıya olduğu ontolojik, epistemik ve metodolojik krizlere referans verilmiş ve disiplinin gerçekten bir krizin içinde olup olmadığı sorusuna yanıt aranmıştır. Daha sonra aksiyolojinin ne anlama geldiği ve disiplin için neden önemli olduğu ele alınmıştır. Son olarak da disiplinin pek çok meselede olduğu gibi aksiyoloji konusunda neden sessiz kaldığı, bu ihmalin gerekçelerinin neler olduğu tartışılmıştır.

Abstract
Even though International Relations discipline (IR) is in its centennial history, one of the contemporary discussion in IR is concerning whether IR is a real discipline or not. By referencing the current discussions regarding the existence and character of the discipline, this study argues that discussions arise from neglected axiological foundations of the discipline rather than mostly referenced ontological or epistemological foundations of the discipline. Therefore, any discussions concerning the discipline’s today should not be analyzed without emphasizing the axiological foundations that has formed discipline. It is easy to find new ways and new trends by re-reading the values which formed the ontological and epistemological foundations of the discipline. Firstly, this study deals with IR’s current the ontological, epistemological and methodological crisis and whether there is a real crisis in IR or not will be also questioned. Secondly, the meaning of the axiology and why axiology is important for the discipline is also dealt with. Finally, why IR has been silent about the axiology is also discussed.
