Abstract
Göç ülkemizin en önemli gündem maddesi olmaya devam etmektedir. Kırdan kente başlayan göç süreci, kentlere de sıçramaya ve onları küçültmeye başlamıştır. Bu durum sosyal, yönetsel ve ekonomik anlamda bu kentlerin kimliklerini kaybederek işlevsiz hale gelmelerine yol açmıştır. Göç alan kentler daha da büyümüş, bu da doğal olarak sosyal, ekonomik, siyasi ve çevresel yönden büyük maliyetler getirmiştir. Bu çalışma, mikro bir örneklem üzerinde nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden derinlemesine mülakat ile tarihsel karşılaştırmalı yöntemle kentleri küçülten sürecin nedenlerini anlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Böylece ülkemizde gittikçe daha sorunlu hale gelen küçük kentlerin kimlik kaybetme süreci ortaya konulmuş olacaktır.

Abstract
Immigration continues to be an important agenda of our country. The process of immigration from rural to urban area has affected the cities and it has started to shrink them. This situation has led small cities in social, administrative and economic sense to lose their identities and become ineffective. The cities that get immigrants have become bigger. So it has naturally brought more expenses in social, economic, political and environmental perspective. This study benefited from qualitative research methods using deep interviev in addition to historical comparative methods on micro sample. The aim of this study to understand the reason of process that shrinks the cities. So the identity lose of small cities in our country, which has become more and more complicated, will be revealed.
