Abstract
19. yüzyılda Osmanlının son dönemlerinde Batılılaşma hareketi ile birçok alanda reformlar gerçekleşmiştir. Siyasal, toplumsal, kültürel ve sanatsal alanda batı ekseninde gelişim söz konusuydu. Kadınların eğitim almaları ve toplumsal eşitlik konusunda birçok olumlu gelişmeler yaşanmıştır. Elit kesime ait ve eğitim düzeyi yüksek kadınların sanata eğilimiyle kadınlar sanatsal ve kültürel etkinliklerde yer almaya başlamışlardır. Bu dönem Mihri Müşfik (1886-1954) resim sanatında öncü adımlarıyla ilklere imza atmış sanatçılardandır. Mihri Hanım Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun çalkantılı dönemlerinde kadın olmanın zorluklarıyla baş ederek çağdaş Türk resim sanatının gelişiminde önemli rol oynamıştır.
Bu çalışmada çağdaş Türk resim sanatının öncü kadınlarından olan Mihri Müşfik’in yaşadığı dönemin siyasal, toplumsal, kültürel olayları temel alınarak yaşamının ve eserlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma 1886 ile 1954 yıllarını kapsamaktadır. Bu çalışma, Osmanlı dönemi ile Cumhuriyetin ilân edilmesinden sonraki yıllarda ortaya çıkan olayların sanatçının sanatına olan etkileri esas alınarak ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışmada sanatçının Batı sanatı etkileriyle oluşan eserleri ele alınmıştır. Aynı zamanda Mihri Müşfik timsalinde çağdaş Türk resim sanatında kadının yeri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliğinin getirdiği sorunlarla mücadele eden sanatçının isminin az kaynakta yer alması çalışmanın önemini ortaya koymaktadır.
Bu araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemi ile oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmada betimsel-tarama türü kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, sanatçının sanatsal üretim süreci, faaliyetine dair bilgiler literatür taraması yöntemiyle elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın materyali olarak sanatçının eser görsellerine yer verilmiştir.

Abstract
In the 19th century, reforms took place in many areas with the Westernization movement known in the last period of the Ottoman Empire. There was a development in the western axis in the political, social, cultural and artistic fields. There have been many positive developments in women's education and social equality. With the inclination of elite and highly educated women to art, women started to take part in artistic and cultural activities. During this period, Mihri Mushfik (1886-1954) was one of the first artists in the art of painting with pioneering steps. Mihri Hanım played an important role in the development of contemporary Turkish painting by coping with the difficulties of being a woman in the turbulent times of the Ottoman Empire.
In this study, it is aimed to examine the life and works of Mihri Mushfik, one of the leading women of contemporary Turkish painting, based on the political, social and cultural events of the period she lived. The study covers the years between 1886 and 1954.This study is based on the effects of the events that took place in the Ottoman period and the years after the proclamation of the Turkish Republic on the artist's art. In the study, the works of the artist, which were formed with the effects of Western art, were discussed. In this study, it is tried to determine the place of women in contemporary Turkish painting in the example of Mihri Mushfik. The fact that the name of the artist, who struggles with the problems caused by gender inequality, is included in few sources reveals the importance of the work.
This research was created by qualitative research method. The descriptive-scanning method was used in the research. In this study, information about the artistic production process and activity of the artist was obtained by the method of literature review. Work images of the artist were included as the material of the research.
