In the present study, we propose to analyze “enunciative support” (focus) concept of locutor into oral dialogue in contemporary French and Turkish languages. The expression of subjectivity and assertive modalization represent an important topic in the context of verbal interaction in spoken language. Within an analytical approach to the structure of oral language, the main objective of our study will highlight the following issues: 1) How to realize the enunciative support of locutor in the oral dialogue at the moment of enunciation? 2) How to interpret the enunciative support realized by the locutor in the utterances with regard to enunciation and prosody? 3) Which are the (supra-)segmental marks of enunciative support concerning the speaker of discourse? At the end of this study, we will try to determine the structure of utterances expressed subjectivity; typologically create a model that can shape supportive opinions in Turkish conversation, with a comparative approach to spoken French. To this end, we will work on a spoken language corpus. Our corpus study (spoken corpus) will consist of a compilation ranging from 15 to 35 minutes of conversation recordings and transcribed text of this section (transcriptions). Theoretical and methodological dimensions of this research come to contemporary French Linguistics theories : The "enunciation" and "prosody" in relationship, used in Applied Linguistics methods called "analytical discourse analysis" will be used. For this, the French Linguistics in the oral language and enunciation research forms the basis of these two theories will get use of: a) Grammaire de l'intonation (Intonation grammar) by Morel and Danon-Boileau (1998), b) Approche de la langue parlée (Oral language approach) by Blanche-Benveniste (1997).

Social emotional learning is a child’s ability to express him/herself, control his/her emotions, and be at peace and in harmony with him/herself and the surroundings. School is the most suitable environment after family where one can learn about the appropriate social behaviors. It is more common to meet academic, social, and emotional needs at school. In this regard, it is important to improve social emotional skills so that children can establish strong and positive peer relations, have more academic success, and strengthen their relations with families. The improvement in children’s social emotional skills will decrease their aggressive behavior and increase their positive attitudes such as cooperation, reconciliation, and sharing. In fact, their social-cognitive skills improve. It is thought to be important to educate children at the age of 12-14, which are the early adolescent years, to help them understand, express, and manage their feelings so that they can succeed in applying their personal and social skills in every domain of life, have high motivation and an optimistic perspective, and be sensitive to themselves and their surroundings. This study aims to describe social emotional learning skills of 6-8th graders and examine the impact their gender and grade level on their social emotional learning skills. The population consisted of 6-8th graders being taught in secondary school in Cankiri. The sample consisted of 521(girl:265, boy:256) adolescent from secondary school located in Cankiri under the Ministry of Education. Data were collected by the “Social Emotional Learning Skills Scale” developed by Kabakçı (2006).
CLIMATIC FEATURES OF THE PROVINCE OF AĞRI DOMINATED BY THE EASTERN ANATOLIA TERRESTRIAL CLIMATE

Being located within the boundaries of Upper Murat-Van Section of Eastern Anatolia on an area of 11. 376 km², the province of Ağrı roughly covers the depression areas extending in the direction of east-west and the highlands surrounding those areas. Depending on the topographic qualities of the area, it is seen that climatic elements also differ within short distances. This difference, which is especially observed under heat and rainfall conditions, affects the climatic type in the same way. There is no self-contained study on the climatic features of the (general) province of Ağrı. This study partially aims to overcome this deficit. While examining the features of the climate, which dominates in the study field and greatly affects the lifestyle of locals, we used not only the long-term observations of Ağrı meteorology statiton, but also the observation data of other meteorology statitons that are located within the boundaries of the province. According to the data of meteorology statitons that make long-term observations in Ağrı (Ağrı, Doğubayazıt and Patnos), the mean yearly temperature of the province varies between 6,2 and 9,2°C. Examining the rainfall features of the study field according to the long-term observation results (1960-2012), the mean yearly rainfall was determined as 521,8 mm by Ağrı, 333,2 mm by Doğubayazıt and 468,3 mm by Patnos. While this value is averagely 577,2 mm in Eastern Anatolia, it is 643 mm across the country. Altitude and topographic conditions are apparently effective upon the rainfall features of the province of Ağrı, which has a rainfall under the region and country average. Analyzing the climatic elements of the province of Ağrı, it is observed that it generally has the climatic features of the Eastern Anatolia Region due to its geographical position, except for some little differences in local scales. According to the De MARTONNE formula that is used to determine the rainfall efficiency of Ağrı, it has a semihumid transition climate that is generally observed between humid climates and semiarid climates; according to the ERİNÇ Formula, it has a semihumid climate; and according to the THORNTHWAITE climate classification, Ağrı has a semihumid, terrestrial, first-order mesothermal climate lacking water in summer at a moderate rate.

The approach of recognition, understanding and conversion at the same time for humans is interpreted as a requirement for His being. Running across to supernatural difficulties human, lives a period of struggle along his life. At this period of struggle as a result of facing difficulties while looking for a solution, he consubstantiates all these events that happened with Gods, carries all of the unknowns into a metaphysical universe. He goes into a way of producing numberless legends after these consubstantiates were done. Maybe this situation is seen as the easiest way for himself. With this way, the human creates a source of comfort in a way for himself, putting his desperation against life on solid basis. The rich Turkish mythology taking its main facts from the geographical, climatic and cultural facts of Middle Asia and from cultures of the civilization that lived in Anatolia had been revealed as a result of such concerns. This richness being just special to Turkish mythology had showed itself at pictorial crafts which had showed improvements by growing, maturing and interacting at every period of time. At the mythological facts belonging to former historical terms, it was mentioned that a regression had been lived through with the acceptance of Islam, it was possible to see characteristic mythological specialities. Especially a few books written about miniature paintings had put forward a lot of visuals about these. At this study, the mythological facts were considered at the opuses of Acaibü’l Mahlukat, Tercüme-i Miftah Cifrü’l-Cami and Ahvâl-i Kıyâmet has great importance among the resources mentioned.

For the first time in history, most people in the world now live under a political system that one can regard as democracy. This phenomenon indicates that this period of time is an era of democracy. Democracy is the name of a political system in which the whole people make the basic determining decisions on important matters of public policy. However, it is clear that a regime is not necessarily democratic just because it claims or argues to be. Thus, there are some basic criteria that determine to be ‘democratic’ as well as some qualifications that regarded as necessities of further democracy.
Letters to a German Friend has the characteristics of an open letter for symbolic values of the French. In letters, europeannes consciousness is told upon the French in all. The philosophy of the author in these letters is not only pon patriotism but also includes the sense of justice. In this work, bycomparing two types of personality of a nation trying to master the world with the discourse of master race during the years of the second world war and another nation trying to preserve its independence, the question how must be a real citizenship and wich things should be included by social morality properties are scrutinized. This work shows how can a normal person can change when it comes to motherland and for an honorable life, how can he take the risk of everytthing including death. It gives the sense of a person’s taking the responsibility or evading the responsibility may change under circunstances by exemplifying from his life. It is observed that the basis of the present day European Union are tried to be composed by authors like Camus. It is possible to see that Camus, a rare person who never makes a choice without thinking on it for a long time and when he makes a choice sticks to it in his life, acts according to this word. In this work of his, he handles basic humanitarian feelings like mercy, weakness, goodness, evil, hatred, sympathy smoothly. It demonstrates that ‘Hangman’ and ‘victim’ dilemma which are two sides of a humanbeing take out of a human’s life philosophy and that time and extension conditions force humanbeing to choose one of these two concepts. It tells his friend that the French could not be organized as they were cought unprepared for the war and were invaded, however with a conscious recovery, everything could be reversed.

A vast amount of information about human values, styles of thinking, and behaviour patterns is gained from the extensive modelling in the symbolic environment of the mass media. Media representations are also symbolic models which audience members observe, imitate and identify with. One of the most important ways the symbolic models influence the social learning process is their involvement in the shaping of identity. Codes and symbols relayed through the media representations embed themselves in the collective mind and influence on the identification of the audience. Bringing some identity features, behaviour patterns, values and life styles into forefront creates a general feeling of acceptance and desire for them and shapes the society’s expectations of in

An urbanization oriented formation can be observed in the development and housing activities enhanced based on the socio-economic conditions parallel to a settling life during the foundation period of the Great Seljuk Empire. The urban culture which was formed based on the Sasanians, Islamic, Samanians, Ghaznavids and Karakhanids gained a new pace during the Seljuks period and came to the fore. Several other coeval or follower states of Seljuks dominated the Islamic world shortly, which were established in Persia, Anatolia, Iraq, Syria and Egypt, were carrying political, social and cultural traces of Seljuks. It is evident that among these states, the Seljuk of Anatolia which was established as a branch of the Great Seljuk Empire presented this impact more clearly. The Seljuk city establishment process in the Anatolia took place within the uncontrolled lands or in the lands captured from the Byzantines and it was structured with conscious development policy which is specific to Seljuks. Similar applications of Seljuks which carry a fallow-up characteristic of the ones formed systematically in the Persian territory regarding city and urbanization activities were continued in the Anatolia through addition of some advancement. Undoubtedly, a different territory and existence of a different prior formation were fused once more under the Seljuk impact. The effect of the urban culture existed within the Khorasan territory since the foundation of the Seljuks over the cities of Seljuks of Turkey is an outstanding subject that is needed to be investigated through comparison by taking institutions and other primary factors into account.

The concept of hegemony, which is used in “Critical Theory” and which was borrowed from Antonio Gramsci and adapted to the discipline of International Relations by Robert Cox, refers to the system of relations that states form voluntarily –not by force- around a certain state by confirming its influence. The history of international relations shows that some states or groups of states managed to in-crease their power and capabilities to an extent that they could shape the way interstate relations operate. They managed to acquire nearly as much power and capability as other actors in the system could generate by forming coalitions against them, and they maintained their hegemonic positions until the rise of a new great power. With the demise of British hegemony after the World War II, the USA became the new hegemonic power in the international system acquiring the power and capability to shape the international rules and norms according to her own motivations and demands. In this respect, the political and cultural elements among the sources of the current US hegemony in the international system are of essential importance. In this study, by discussing the phenomenon of hegemony in international relations, the concept of “Manifest Destiny”, or in other words “American Exceptionalism”, which is the political and cultural source of the US he-gemony, will be addressed.

Louise Erdrich is a contemporary writer of German-American and Chippewa heritage. She reflects consciousness and awakening marking lives of people, much like herself, from dual cul¬tural backgrounds. Erdrich is aware of the problems that her ancestors have faced due to the arrival of white settlers and she is successful to illustrate such events in her works. The arrival of whites is the beginning of a new fate for Indians which changes the whole value of Native Americans. The meeting of two races causes a lot of deaths, sorrows and cruelties which are done by the hands of whites in order to find cheep labors and more gold. That’s why, the interaction of different ethnicities is one of the common themes in Erdrich’s novels since the contact between the white man and Native American remains as an ominous date in the memories of the Indians. Erdrich is a talented writer who is good at demonstrating negative and positive results of tragedies in her works by the help of characters. This talent lets Erdrich write the history objectively. She achieves remaining unprejudiced while depicting the permanent and destructive acts made by missionaries. To sum up, Erdrich, one of the popular contemporary writers of German-American and Chippewa descent recounts her consciousness of the Native American history and she is very successful to reflect theses consciousness on her characters. In this paper, Erdrich’s consciousness of the Native American history and how it is depicted through characters will be studied.

Thus situated TT hasn’t got active voice that is claimed the object being connected with the action which is represented the verb stem that is the agent of the action and which is symbolized with zero morpheme. So as concrete active voice form doesn’t exist in TT, its absence doesn’t meaningful. Middle voice is the verb form having the meaning of the action signified with the verb stem which is the agent of the action and inside or outside case of the mentioned object has occurred a change. Stereotyped verbs having this sense in this way don’t express mentioned connection between action and object with the morphological method that should be evaluated as having medium meaning verb, not medium voice. In the study the voice morphemes in TT have been discussed by using the method of functional linguistics and the forms have been classified by considering the functions they have. To determinate the functions of the voice morphemes accurately and completely contemporary TT literature materials and speeches have been utilized and the verb forms included in their combination voice forms have been tested with examples obtained by using the screening method, too.
