Among the factors which affect learning, the importance of the learner’s intuitions is indisputable. In mathematics and science education according to a theory known as intuitive rules theory, individuals’ similar reactions to conceptually unrelated situations stem from their being affected by some common intuitive rules. The aim of this study is to examine the 8th grade students’ answers to different kinds of comparison questions in terms of “same A – same B” and “more A – more B” intuitive rules. In the study, mixed method in which quantitative and qualitative research methods are used together was applied. Sample of the study was determined by available sampling method. Participants were 30 8th grade students 20 of which was female and 10 of which was male attending to a state middle school in Anatolian side of İstanbul. Data was collected through Intuitive Rules Test which consists of 10 multiple choice questions. 5 of the questions aimed at measuring “same A – same B” rule and 5 of it aimed at measuring “more A – more B” intuitive rule. In each question, besides marking the alternative they think as the correct answer, the students filled in the explanation part in which they are expected to justify their choice; so, qualitative data was provided for the study. For the quantitative analysis of data, in each question the frequency and percentages of students who marked the correct alternative and who marked the alternative related with the intuitive rule were calculated. In the qualitative part of the analysis, the students’ explanations were coded as either “in line with the answer” or “inconsistent with the answer” and the frequency and percentages of these were calculated. Findings showed that the percentage of students’ marking the alternative related to the intuitive rules was between 20% and 66,7%. Students who marked alternatives designed for the intuitive rules often used characteristic expressions related to those intuitive rules.

Science lessons include many concepts that are related to many other concepts and the incomplete or incorrect learning of a particular concept affects the learning of the other concepts. Concepts learned like this causes misconceptions to occur. Students have many misconceptions about the concepts in the unit of matter and its properties. The aim of this study is to determine misconceptions related to these concepts and overcome them by using concept maps, computer assisted instruction and traditional instruction. According to this aim, the pre-test post-test control group quasi-experimental design was used. The treatment was conducted in the three classes of a private school in Istanbul, and computer assisted instruction (experimental group I), concept mapping (experimental group II) and traditional teaching (control grıup) are used during 19 lessons. “Matter And Its Properties Concept Test (MPCT)” was conducted to all the students both before and after the treatments. The test developed by Sari (2014) is 20-itemed two-tiered diagnostic test. According to the ANOVA results of the pretests, there was no statistically significant difference between the groups (p=0,881), while there was a statistically significant difference between the posttest results (p

"Absurd Theatre, which aims to represent inconformity between life and individual, has arisen with the negative atmosphere for humanity pursuant to the Second World War. Art movements such as Dadaism and Surrealism, which defend the role of irrational items in literary texts without accepting objective truth, and Existentialism, which struggles to make sense of the place of human life in life, are influential in the formation of Absurd theater. This new perception of theatre gave the first examples in Europe and; it stands against all conventional text and acting characteristics of traditional theatre. In this theatre type, existence struggle of humanbeing coincides with relative reality perception. The heroes of this theatre are nonadaptive, have communication problems and universal characteristics. The language used in theatre texts is the most important tool to reflect the lack of communication. The language, supported with visual images, pushes all boundaries and moves beyond functioning as a narration tool and loses its objective reality. This case puts language, the biggest symbol of the lack of communication in Absurd Theatre texts, into a fundamental contradiction against ""meaning"". Play of “Bir İnsan Başı Üstüne Üç Sesli Üzünç” by Aziz Nesin is an example of absurd theatrical texts that refer to Beckettyen characters and hope and expectation actions as well as to show the fluctuations of all feelings about human beings, reflecting body and language inconformity It is shown.İn this study, the effects of the Absurd Theater will be mentioned in Aziz Nesin's play, the themes, behaviors and narrative styles specific to this theater understanding will be examined."

The purpose of this study is to develop an effective and reliable scale which can assess the efficiency of activity studies performed in a learning environment according to the teachers’ perceptions. The teachers, who work in the official primary and secondary schools in Cekmekoy district of Istanbul during the spring term of 2017-2018 school year, have been defined as the target population of the study. As 4 primary schools and 4 secondary schools, 8 schools in total have been determined as the sample from the relevant population by lot. Questionnaires have been sent to all the teachers who work in the determined schools. Then, the data of 244 teachers answered the questionnaire have been evaluated. In the end of the literature review, an item pool consisted of 20 items have been obtained. In accordance with the opinions received by the experts, some items were regulated, and three items were eliminated from the scale. Consequently, a sample form consisted of 17 items has been prepared. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, a single factoral assessment tool which explains 61.16% of the total variance has been obtained. It has been determined that the scale model tested through the confirmatory factor analysis demonstrates a good compliance. Total item correlation values of the ‘’Assessment Scale for Activity Studies’’ consisted of 12 items are between 0.59 and 0.84. In addition, it has been found that the results of t test made between the supergroup and subgroup points at the rate of 27% cause a significant difference for all the items. Cronbach's Alpha coefficient calculated for the whole scale has been found as 0.96. According to the findings obtained, it can be stated that the internal consistency, effectiveness and reliability of the Assessment Scale for Activity Studies are highly sufficient. As a result of the studies made, the ‘’Assessment Scale for Activity Studies’’ gathered under the single factor and consisted of 12 items has been obtained. When the values obtained in the result of the study are taken into consideration, it can be suggested that the ‘’Assessment Scale for Activity Studies’’ be used by the researchers.

Codetermination is a provision of influencing decisions by involving those concerned in the process of taking managerial decisions. Organizational quietness is personnels’ withholding their views and concerns on organizational issues. The purpose of this research is to reveal relationship status between perceptions of teachers about participation in school administration and organizational quietness using the data on perceptions of teachers about participation in school administration and organizational quietness obtained from teachers, who work at secondary level schools in Tekirdağ province and its town centers in school year 2014-2015. For this purpose, the data has been gathered from 501 teachers, who are working at secondary education institutions in country towns and city center of Tekirdağ. As it aims to reveal the existing situation, relational screening method is used in this descriptive research. The data contains personal information sheet filled by the teachers, The Scale of Teachers’ Participation in the School Administration and The Scale of Organizational Quietness. On the process of analysis, Independent Two Samples t-Test and One Way Variance Analysis (One Way ANOVA) Test have been applied. In ANOVA test it has seen that there is a significant difference between samples. To determine which two samples have the difference, LSD Post Hoc Test has been applied. Pearson Correlation is used to determine the correlation between the scores of the scales and sub dimensions. According to the results of this research, it has been seen that teachers have high level of positive views on participation to the school administration (average score of The Scale of Teachers’ Participation in the School Administration is 3,71±0,39), and also it has been found that their perceptions on organizational silence behaviour are at mid level (average score of The Scale of Organizational Silence is 3,38±0,75). Correlational findings between Teachers’ Participation in the School Administration and Organizational Silence reveal that there is a significant and a weak negative relationship between teachers’ participation to the school administration and their organizational silence behaviours. Besides, it is determined that there is also a significant and a weak negative relationship between Teachers’ Participation to the School Administration and School Environment, Emotion and Source of Silence sub dimensions, and also between Codetermination Status sub dimension and Administrator and Isolation sub dimensions while there is a significant and moderate negative relationship between Codetermination Status sub dimension and School Environment, Emotion, Source of Silence sub dimensions and Organizational Silence in general. However, it is found that there is a significant and positive weak relationship between Benefits of Codetermination sub dimension and Administrator sub dimension, and also between Suggestions Improving Codetermination sub dimension and Emotion, Administrator and Isolation sub dimentions.
THE AVANGARDE WORK OF UNDERGROUND LITERATURE IN TURKEY: BİR ZAMBAĞIN HİKÂYESİ (THE TALE OF A LIBY) BY MEHMET RAUF

The popularization of underground literature and its being disucessed as a widespread type or field run into the period after 1980.But , just as in the literature of other nations, the existence of literary works outside canon or those excluded from canon date back to first literary productions in Turkish. However, the first samples in modern sense appears after Tanzimat reform era and especially after the proclamation of II. Constitutional Period. The key feature of the works laying milestones of the way to underground literature in Turkey is that they address the issues which the oriental and conservative Turkey society find odd and dont want them to be spoken up. For instance, erotic tales adapted by western literatures after the proclamation of II. Constitutional Period is a courageous attempt in this sense. Among these attempts, Mehmet Rauf is the prominent writer. Thus, Mehmet Rauf, the most noted and prestigious writer of Servet-i Fünun Period after Halit Ziya, produces the first sample of underground literature with his novella type story named Bir Zambağın Hikayesi (The Tale of a Lily) which will later become a breaking point in his literary career , weaken his prestige in society, become the cause for his losing the job and even the cause for his judgement and serving time in prison. In the novel which is the adaptaion of The Romance of Violette by Oscar Wilde, homosexuality , erotism and a lustful story between a man and to women is told in the context of the central topic that sexuality and lust shouldn't be exprienced in accoredance with the societal impositions or ethics but in accordance with the needs and desires of the nature and physiology. Despite being an adaptaion, the differences in civilization, history, culture and mentality between Turkey and Western World make Bir Zambağın Hikayesi (The Tale of a Lily) different from The Romance of Violette in certain points. In other words, Mehmet Rauf who ignores the the conservative society which is closely engaged with traditions, moral and religious values, produces a "Turkish style" underground narration. The work, which draws attention of a particular small section of the community, is accepted by some intellectuals and critics as an avangrande underground narration which gains popularity in certain groups and is read secretly and which bravely deals with sexualtiy, lust and erotism.

The theatre, which has been existing since before written history and has become an inseparable part of societies, is one of the branches of art which has never lost its dynamism and importance since the ancient times. One of the primary aspects which has allowed this art form to find life and develop in different cultures and different spaces is the activity of translation. The roots of literary translation which require transforming a text into a targeted text which has equal value and style as created by the writer go back as early as the art of theatre. Among the literary translation types, translation of theatral texts comes to the fore with its unique characteristics and attributions in comparison to other types. In this study, two translations of the play “Woe from Wit,” written in 1823 by Aleksandr Sergeyevich Griboyedov, who has carried comedy theatre in Russian literature to its peak, from Russian to Turkish will be dealt with in cultural, social and linguistic terms, in relation to its emergence period within the scope of its source culture and its targeted culture. The first translation is the text translated by Zeynel Akkoc and Sahap Sıtkı Ilter in 1945, which has become a part of the Ministry of Culture’s classic works list. The second translation text to be analyzed is the joint work of Cenk Gundogdu and Engin Toprak, dated 2011. In the study, a text dependent analysis method will be made use of as the comparison style. The purpose of the study is to determine how much of a change the play ‘Woe from Wit’ has gone through in the 66 years since its first translation into Turkish, underline the translators’ choices, make a comparative description of the two different targeted texts in the target language in cultural, social and linguistic terms and interpret what kind of effects the translators’ choices have left on the readers.

Utopia, which first entered to literature with the same name given to the work by the British writer Thomas More in 1516, originates from the Greek words "ou" meaning “none”, "eu" meaning “the perfect one” and "topos" meaning “land, country”. Utopia as a word means the ideal society, system, thought, country, paradise design, which is developed instead of the existing one. Utopias are considered as unrealizable state designs because of a lifestyle in which all the vital problems of mankind are solved. In literature, utopian works are intensely seen in 19th century. However, in the 20th century, especially after World War I, because of not giving importance to the values of individuals in the name of equality and social happiness, utopian works leave their place to antiutopian ones. Antiutopian works, expressing totalitarian and repressive societies, describe the most striking aspects of the period of wars and internal disturbances, with the vast majority benefiting from the science fiction type. The aim of our study is to reveal similar and different aspects of these two concepts which frequently cause semantic confusion in literary researches because they are used instead of each other. In our study, we used comparative literary science which studies literary as a whole and comment two works, written in different languages, in terms of subject, thought or form. And we tried to anallyze the works, which are examples of Russian and American literary, by using the comparison method.

Folktales are the symbolic products with relation dreams and reality in the middle of the real and fantasy world. In the depth of the obfuscation and symbols inside, it reveals different layers of meaning. Each of these layers of significance encompasses the elements belonging to tradition. Each image that is covered in the layers of meaning of the folktale takes on a task on the axis of tradition. Through these missions, the folktale is addressed to all age ranges, especially children. It transmits tradition from generations to generation and provides discontinuous culture. Besides that; moral elements, such as virtue, goodness, righteousness, fighting against badness, are functionally contained in a form of fiction. These are functions that perform informal training and aim to teach. To understand the symbols of the functions and to reach the submissions, the text must be examined with different perspectives and holistic. This review will be a little closer to the symbolic world of the folktale. The determination of cultural memory, collective consciousness, and tradition are possible with the symbolic analysis of the world of folktales. The determination of cultural memory, collective consciousness, and tradition are possible with the symbolic analysis of the world of folktales. In this study, the will be focused on the “Keloglan with Golden Nightingale” folktale’s hero, the helpers and the entity/persons in which the hero is struggling. The functions and symbolic provisions of this entity/person in the folktale will be examined. In addition, the national and religious dimensions of the folktale will be attempted to be revealed. In this way, the national and Islamic elements which are placed in the layers of meaning of the folk tale will be attempted to be revealed. The influence of these elements on the fiction of the folktale and the traditional structure will be discussed.

It is called as “Ara Nesil” the group partaking between the second generation of Tanzimat period and Servet-i Fünun. This group that has been mentioned first time by Mehmet Kaplan and in the next times this group has been adopted by the other researchers. But there is a dimness about the historical frame of the Ara Nesil and members of this group. The reason of this dimness is that there is not a common publication organ of the Ara Nesil specialists. Moreover this group have not a certain literal understanding. But this condition does not change the truth that the Ara Nesil has continued its activities from 1880’s until 1900’s years and the members of this group have written poems, novels, stories, critiques, essays and translations. Mehmet Celal is one of the important delegates of the Ara Nesil. He has written many works like poem, novel, translation ect. At the same time he has shouldered single-handed the development mission of story kind in the period as both quality and quantity. According to our determination Mehmet Celal has 84 compilation stories. This is a great success for the writer at a time when the story line has just begun to find itself. These stories have been shaped on love theme. Sometimes love becomes an obsession and this condition affects the person as negative. The feeling which is sensed as love by person transforms an illness in time and this condition waftes the person to the tragedy. The other damaging aspects of love are extreme jealousy and drink dependency.

THE FORMATION OF MASS CULTURE AND ITS EFFECTS ON CONTEMPORARY ART

Mass culture appeared as part of the changes capitalism brought about on the society. Mass culture, appearing in the 19th century as a result of growing effect of capitalism and developments in advertising, is also called popular culture. This trend changed people’s lifestyle as well as their approach to art, prompting people to overconsume and turning works of art into ordinary commodities. Therefore, the capitalist system created a cultural life and art market based on money, ensuring the continuity of consumption. Mass society came into being with people having similar points of view and exhibiting analogous behaviour. These changes in the realms of culture and art have been investigated by artists, authors, and scholars who critically examined their causes and effects. The first critical approach to the phenomenon of mass culture was that of Theodor Adorno in the 1930s. Adorno maintained that the efforts to settle the differences between modernist high art and industrial mass culture caused the disappearance of high art, and asserted that changes in social life commodified works of art. In his paintings, Andy Warhol, the pioneer of Pop Art, depicted the commodified works of art becoming mechanical and ordinary. What influenced art negatively in mass culture was, according to Warhol, mass produced “kitsch”. The studies by the Frankfurt school on this issue have revealed the profound effect of mass media in the promotion of popular culture, claiming that mass media serve global market and its ideology, leading to uniform production of works of art. This study aims to investigate the negative implications of mass culture and the changes it has caused in the realm of art. Critics of mass culture commonly argue that it causes people to adopt a consumption-focused approach which is indifferent, passive, and away from traditional values.

ILLUSTRATION: AN ART INVITING THE THEATRE (SCENE) PERFORMANCE TO THE BOOKS

The gap arising from the absence of the theatre brought together two different but harmonious media, the book and the scene, with the help of illustration inviting the theatre performance to the book. Despite widespread concern over breaking the traditional relationship between the play and scene, theatre illustrations, making the audience a part of the event with the purpose of reviving events and moments, and with the feature of being a historical document, have given important examples of the tradition to reinforce the environment based on the traditions of the theatre. These illustrations are not only the ones presenting non-temporal examples to the audience’s world, age, and perception but also transformed into unique works. These examples which came to these days day by day with the understanding and traditions of the time prove that both the reason for theatrical existence in social life and the reason for the inclusion of the illustration in the book are coincidental, because performance illustrations, rather than representing today, bring the theatrical event to a permanent point, aiming to reintroduce the theatre performance in another universe. At this point, the fictional structure of the play can be hided, recorded and documented. Because of this visual power, illustration enables the audience to continue his journey in another universe by making him a part of the event. In this research, the process leading to the meeting of the illustration with the theatre scene was examined chronologically with reasons for the development of the relationship between performance and illustration. Moreover, the study discussed the meeting of illustration, which was described as an art inviting the theatre performance to the book in this study, with the cultures and transformation of the illustrations to the unique works with unlimited expression possibilities in every culture.

SELF-PORTRAIT AS AN EXPRESSIONIST TOOL FOR REPRESENTATION

The history of portraiture dates to very old times in history. It is the branch of the plastic arts that represents individuals the best and approaches them considering meaning and form. The theme of portraits is humans. They act as the documents that emphasize their distinguishing qualities and highlight their identities. Based on this description, the objective of this study is to analyze the evolution of the self-portrait within the history of art that has always been in consistency with the social and individual changes from modernism until today. Even though self-portraits have a very long past, the study particularly focused on the artists whose works reflect the formation of individual identity, and have a critical attitude towards the liberation of the individual going beyond social enforcement from modernism until today, with self-portrait as the main heading. The study also described the chronological history of the self-portrait within art history and attempted to make a synthesis by questioning the role of the self-portrait as representative of identity in modern art based on the artists and works of that period. The self-portrait may be accepted as a product of the answers that are sought by artists regarding their own existentialist questioning. The self-portrait, which studies the very artist as the subject, is one of the starting points of existentialism since it focuses on the fact of ego. Today, the rapid changes in social, economic, cultural, and political environments are having a negative impact on individuals’ identity formation process. This situation also affected the artists who worked on self-portraits, and made them question social problems based on their own body images. For this reason, the problem for which the study will do plastic analyses on self-portraits is modern individual’s existence problem that originated in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and has grown stronger until the present day.

Allah, in some verses of Quran, used various expressions which are peculiar to the creatures for himself . The prophet also depicted Allah with the same terms in his sayings. The misperception of such expressions used in Quran and Hadith paved the way for false depictions of Allah in some Kalam schools. Mushabbihah, Mucassimah and those who thought in the same way understood those expressions used in Quran and Hadith in their literal meaning and likened Allah to the creatures. On the other hand, Cehmiyye, Mutezilah and a great majority of Sunnah scholars kept attributes regarding creation away from Allah. They emphasized that these expressions used in Quran and Hadith should be interpreted in a way worthy of Allah’s glory. The aim of this article is to bring to light the ideas of Fahreddin Razi, who is one of the most preeminent figures of Kalam discipline, on informing attributes, the method he used to make these attributes understood correctly and his comments related to this subject. While on the one hand he criticised and opposed to the misbeliefs of schools such as Haşeviyye ve Kerramiyye, which had the concept of comparision (teşbih) and embodiment (tecsim) regarding Allah’s informing attributes, on the other hand he asserted that new meanings be given to expressions bearing attributions to creatures in Quran and Hadith in order to settle correct conception of Allah in accordance with tenzih belief in minds. Razi proved the impossibility of using each informing attribute in their literal meaning with intellectual and logical proofs and interpretations and helped place the belief of Allah in Muslim’s minds in a right way.

ACCORDING TO THE FOUR DENOMINATIONS, IT IS TIME TO PRAY IN THE MORNING

The nameless are time-consuming acts. The beginning and end of their time is obvious. More than one verse refers to the time of prayer through signs or delaterals, but the beginning and end of the time is not clearly stated in the verses. It is the Sunnah that gives detailed information about the beginning, end and the time of prayer. There is no dispute between the four sect that the morning prayer will begin with the Fajr-I Sadik and end with the rising of the sun. Nawawi says there is an ICMA on this issue. However, since there are two different hadith narrations about the time of the morning prayer, there are two opinions about the time of the morning prayer in general and more opinions about the time of the morning prayer have emerged in detail. According to an opinion, it is more appropriate to perform the morning prayer during the morning prayer, i.e. to perform the morning prayer while it is still dark before the time. The shafi'i sect is defending this view and there is no conflict between the shafi'i ulama and the shafi'i ulama. The opinions of Maliki and hanbali sects are in general. However, Imam Malik and Ahmad B. There are also different rumors from hanbal. According to a rumor, Ahmad B. Hanbel said that it is more prudent for the morning prayer to be adjusted according to the meeting of the community. According to the view of the Maliki sect, it is better to adjust the morning prayer according to the time that is easy for people, and it is more appropriate to make it during the winter season before the time, and to make it during the time of isfar during the hot Seasons. In other words, it is more prudent to perform the morning prayer at the time of isfaar, when it is a little light. This view adopts Hanafi sect. However, since the measure of isfar is not clear, different views are conveyed from the Hanafi fuqah. According to Abu hanifa, it is more prudent to start the morning prayer in the middle of the time. According to Tahavi, one of the Hanafi fiqh scholars, isfar is to cem with taglis, who is virtuous in the morning prayer. According to this, prayer is started at the time of the ghalas (dark), and the chakra is extended and prayer is completed at the time of the isfar. It is permissible for men to perform the morning prayer at the time of isfar, and for women to perform the morning prayer at the time of the day while it is still dark, and to perform the other prayers after the community has been dissolved.

The Anatolian Seljuks, one of the important Turkish states established in Anatolia, had a very bright period until the middle of the 13th century. The Anatolian Seljuk State gradually went under the dominance of the Ilkhanid State after the Kösedağ War with the Mongols. However, a rivalry began between the Mameluke State established in Egypt in 1250 and the Ilkhanid State established in Iran in 1258, and the first example of it emerged in the Ayn-Calut War in 1260. The Mongols had never received defeat until that time. From this date onwards, the rivalry between the Mamluks and Ilkhanis continued with the Ilkhanids attempting to retaliate for the defeat of Ayn-Calut in a battle in Elbistan, which took place in 1277 in Anatolia. The Mamluk Sultan Baibars and the Ilkhanid ruler Abaqa Khan came to Kayseri and continued their struggle and the Mamluk army defeated the Ilkhanid army in this battle. Sultan Baibars made the Battle of Elbistan to rescue the people of Anatolia, his kin, from the oppression of the Mongols. But after this war Ilkhans increased their pressure on the Anatolian Seljuks. Because the Seljuks did not fight with Mamluk soldiers along with the Ilkhan armies and Ilkhans were alone and defeated in this war. Mu'in al-Din Sulaiman Parwana was seen as responsible for this defeat and Abaqa Khan came to Anatolia after the war to commit a massive massacre and thousands of Anatolian people lost their lives because of the persecution of the Mongols. Some historians point out that this persecution and oppression in Anatolia was caused by the dual politics that Parwana applied between the two countries.

The Internet, which is one of today's most important technologies, has become an integral part of our lives. The fact that the internet, which surrounds our four sides, is addressing to all age groups also extends the user profile. The fact that adolescents are keen users of the internet and their excessive use of the internet lead to problematic usage of the internet. This is an issue that needs to be addressed with precision. The aim of this research is to determine the social work interventions that can be applied at the macro level to reveal the reasons of problematic internet usage and the solutions that will contribute to the elimination of these reasons in secondary and high school students. Eight secondary schools and 599 high school students from the center of Kocaeli Province were selected as representatives from secondary and high schools. "Problematic Internet Usage Scale-Adolescent" developed by Ceyhan, Ceyhan and Gurcan (2009) was used to determine problematic internet use of students. The data obtained from the questionnaire was interpreted by SPSS with basic descriptive statistics, T-Test, Anova and Single and Multiple Regression Analysis techniques. As a result, the following findings have been obtained in the research. Secondary school and high school students in the city center of Kocaeli, who spend more than 3 hours on the internet on average, use the internet mostly for social media, chatting, watching and uploading series, films, or videos. According to the Problematic Internet Usage Scale with 92.7% reliability, two thirds of the students are normal internet users and one third is composed of problematic and under-risk internet users. In terms of gender variable, boys have more problematic internet usage than girls, and in terms of age variable, those in the age range of 13-15 have more problematic internet usage than those over 16 years of age. According to the established linear regression models, as the daily time spent on internet, social media and digital games increases, the probability of problematic internet usage also increases.

The incredible and unpredictable rapid and radical changes seen over the past 20 years, cultivating both producers and consumers, as well as business management, have been culturally influenced by the fact that the culture and understanding of business is changing day by day. The most influential elements of business culture are information technology, the internet, especially social media. Perhaps the more effective interaction with people in physical life can come to the fore with social media. The aim of this study is to evaluate how business culture is influenced by social media, especially facebook. This purpose was studied by source scanning, observation and interpretation. With the use of information technologies and the desire to carry social media to businesses, many businesses have started to occupy themselves in different social circles, some businesses have succeeded in this and others have not succeeded. This success and failure may be related to the ability to adapt to change, to recognize trends, and to adaptability. As in all areas where there are crowds, business is developing spontaneously in the field of social media and behaviors are shaped within a specific culture belonging to this field. While it is widespread that social media is only an area of socialization, it is observed that social media is a re-evaluating area that influences both the commercial and general business areas as well as the customer trends. It is expected that this study contributes to this field which is underworked.

Astronomical knowledge Since the early ages, human beings have been attracting attention. People are interested in the science of astronomy to build their lives in an orderly way and to maintain their daily lives. Naturally, this situation has set the stage for increasing interest in astronomy science from the ancient civilizations to the medieval civilizations. Basically, the Ancient and Medieval astronomy was developed by the influence of Ptolemy's Earth-centered (geocentric) astronomy. The geocentric universe model based on the studies of Ptolemy and mathematical theories maintained its existence as a correct thesis in astronomy until the time of Copernicus. However, there were some shortcomings in this theory. These shortcomings first raised objections from Egypt and then Andalusia. At this point, Nasîrüddîn Tysî and Merâga Mathematics-Astronomy School, which were active in the Mongolian period, developed an alternative planetary model. Especially the work of Nasîrüddîn Tûsî and Merâga Mathematics-Astronomy School has been an important step on the way to the present understanding of astronomy as proposed by Kopernik. In addition, Mongol astronomy has also contributed significantly to the development of Turkey's Seljuk astronomy. The fact that the scholars who are studying in Merâga Mathematics-Astronomy School have come to Anatolia, the transfer of some books in this school to Anatolia has prepared an atmosphere for Mongolian astronomy to affect Turkey's Seljuk astronomy.

Spirituality; has begun to have a growing popularity in the academic literature. This popularity has also shown itself in the discipline of social work. Social work is a scientific discipline that centers on people, and thinks of helping them. It is necessary for social work to face the fact that it is necessary to recognize people from all sides and to try understand them in order to fulfill the function of service concept, which is inherent because of that it, would be against the purpose of help to intervene in them without understanding the human being. This is where spirituality comes into play as one of the fundamental dimensions that influence social work discipline at this point. Another concept emphasized in social work discipline is empowerment. The common point in social work definitions and their explanations is the notion of power and empowerment. In social work practice, a paradigm shift by focusing on the strong aspects of the client and an empowering approach that leads to a new way of thinking move through traditions, beliefs, values, spirituality, talents, resources, achievements of the clients. In recent studies, it is known that one of the most fundamental sources motivating the individual is spirituality. In this context, the role of spirituality in empowerment is an undeniable reality. Focusing on the resources and strengths of the clients is possible by including spirituality in the context of social work practices. Spirituality is a good resource that can be used in empowerment context. However, some dimensions of spirituality can also create a weakening effect and weaken some clients. It can be said that spirituality is one of the factors that influence the empowerment process, and that some dimensions may have a weakening effect. The main purpose of study in this context is to try to reveal the relation of spirituality and empowerment in social work practice by referring to the concepts of spirituality, empowerment and social work.

In this study, written consent was obtained from the TRNC Police Organization. The second version of the police integrity questionnaire, developed by Klockars and colleagues, was adapted for the TRNC context, and then administered to the police officers employed in the Criminal Investigation Directorate in December 2013. Survey data were transferred to and analysied with SPSS-20 statistical program. Descriptive analysis, such as mean, mode, percentage, and correlational and differences analysis, such as rank, paired-t test, chi-square test, and Spearman’s correlation were used in data analysis. According to the results of the survey, police officers evaluated the actions of not reporting the colleague-involved DUI accidents, striking a prisoner, failing to halt beating a prisoner, and the acceptance of free meals and gratuities as the least serious forms of police misconduct, which require the most lenient disciplinary sanctions, and the most likely to be covered by the code of silence. On the other hand, police officers evaluated theft from a crime scene, kickback, and the falsification of the official report as the most serious forms of police misconduct that require dismissal of the police officer, and lacking strong support by the code of silence. Respondents perceived their directorate’s disciplinary actions for misconduct by a supervisor as lenient, while they rated for the rest of the scenarios as fair. The strength of the code of silence were also measured. It was found that the code was closely upheld for the behaviors evaluated as the least serious, and most weakly followed for the behaviors evaluated as the most serious. The study revealed that more than a half of the police officers in the Criminal Investigation Directorate were unsure whether cover-up of police DUI accident, striking a prisoner, and failing to halt beating a child abuser behaviors violated the official rules.
