In this study, it is aimed to determine the self-control opinions of the faculty members working in the School of Foreign Languages by asking their self-opinion. The study is a qualitative study based on the opinions of 20 faculty members working at Abant İzzet Baysal University School of Foreign Languages in the second semester of 2018-2019 academic year. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview form by face-to-face interview. When instructors were asked “What do you do when you encounter situations or events that are difficult to overcome in your life?”, “I look for a new solution (f = 16)”; “In any situation that interferes with your normal functioning (eg anxiety, pain, etc.), what are your ways of overcoming it?”, “I get professional help (f = 10)”; “What do you do against seductive stimuli (distractions - pleasurable activities) when you are in the process of acquiring a new habit (eg starting sports, learning a new language, starting a diet, etc?”, “It depends on the importance of habit (f = 9)”; “What do you do when you have a stressed and sad mood?”, “Sleep (f = 6)”; “How can a stressful situation affect you during a pleasant activity? Can you overcome stress and fully enjoy your work, or does stress affect your enjoyment?”, “I am negatively affected and cannot focus fully on the activity (f = 10)”; and when instructors were asked to complete a meaningful sentence within the framework of their own behavior, “When I want something so bad…”, “I do my best (f = 13)”; “When I encounter an unexpected situation…”, “I look for solutions (f = 9)”; “When I have a seductive stimulus for me while I'm focused on a target…”, “I'm Not Affected (f=5)” were the most common responses. The findings show that instructors are mainly self-controlled and that a minority of people in the group may exhibit low self-control in various situations.

The Cultural and Heritage learning area in the Social Studies course is based on values such as sensitivity to cultural heritage, patriotism and aesthetics, and associated with skills such as perception of time-chronology, perception of change and continuity, research and use of evidence. These values and skills are the kinds that an individual can directly turn the information they learned into action, use them in their lives and think analytically. Therefore, it is important to create a process that allows students to learn the information first and then to get them to use this information. The aim of this research is to provide a comparative analysis of the outcomes in the field of Culture and Heritage learning in the Social Studies Teaching Program published by MoNE in 2018, and the assessment questions in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades together with the evaluation questions in the course textbook of the course in terms of Bloom taxonomy. In the study, the outcomes in the teaching program as well as the evaluation questions at the end of the units were analyzed and the cognitive domain step that was intended to be measured were tried to be determined. This study is designed as a qualitative research based on document analysis 19 outcomes in the teaching program of the field of Culture and Heritage learning and a total of 112 evaluation questions in the textbook of the relevant learning area were analyzed. As a result of the interpretation of the findings of the study; in the field of Culture and Heritage learning, which is mainly history-oriented within the scope of social studies course and aims to raise national consciousness by preserving cultural heritage in students, the majority of the outcomes in the teaching program were found to be in the higher level cognitive domain and the majority of the evaluation questions in the textbooks were found to be in the lower level cognitive field level.

It is revealed by various studies that most of what we have learned in the educational environment is done with pictures and similar visuals among various materials addressing the sense of sight. In visual communication, it is important to be able to read the meaning and thoughts of visual symbols. Understanding, reading, interpreting and using visual symbols within the concept of visual literacy is important for an individual to communicate effectively. Most of the students' knowledge is experienced in a visual world where they learn from media communication tools. Therefore, the use of visual materials in teaching Social Studies course is of great importance. In this context, the problem of the research is to determine the effectiveness of teaching and evaluation through the analysis of visual materials. This is a qualitative research. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research models, was used as a research method and suggestions were made.

The aim of this study is to develop a Social Responsibility Scale in order to determine the social responsibility perceptions of the students in the fourth class of primary school. In this context, a draft questionnaire was prepared by scanning the relevant literature. The draft form has been submitted to the experts for their opinions. 47 questions are included in the pre-application form of “Social Responsibility Perception Scale ”. The scale was prepared in triple likert type as “always ”, “sometimes” and “never”. The experimental form of the scale was applied to 206 students in four different primary schools in the city center of Batman. Valid data obtained from students were analyzed. SPSS statistical program was used to analyze the data. Before starting the exploratory factor analysis, it was checked whether the data were suitable or not for analysis. For this purpose, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin sample suitability (743), Barlatt test (2166,316) and the significance of the data (000) were examined. In addition, the factor loadings of the questions in the factors were noticed to be at least 30. As a result of the Exploratory Factor Analysis, a two-dimensional structure consisting of 32 items was reached, namely “effort” and ”self-referral”. The reliability coefficient of the questions collected under two factors was found as 842. The developed scale has been developed to measure the social responsibility of the fourth class students. It may also be used to measure the social responsibility of secondary school students on condition that they use a five-point likert.

The law is the provisions of the sultan, who laid out the legal provisions on a particular subject during the Ottoman period. Ottoman laws are very important documents in terms of Ottoman social and political life, especially ottoman history and legal system. Especially in the Ottoman legal system, the Fatih period has a special place. For Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror was the first Ottoman sultan to publish a law that had been restored. The central laws published later in the Ottoman period, together with some amendments, are a continuation of the laws of the Fatih period.

Ottoman law was the subject of many studies, especially law and history. However, these laws have either never been examined in terms of language characteristics or the examinations have been very limited. However, each text is a language material. In this respect, the evaluation of all documents written in the field of financial, legal and diplomacy in the Ottoman Empire as a language material will undoubtedly make an important contribution to the studies of Ottoman Turkish. This situation has been decisive in the conduct of the study.
Fatih period laws have the characteristics of ancient Anatolian Turkish in terms of period and language characteristics. In this respect, we consider the laws of the conqueror period as a source of 15th century Ancient Anatolian Turkish.

The laws of the conqueror period are 15th century texts. These texts have not been studied in terms of language characteristics before. In this study, the laws will be examined for the first time in terms of phonetic, morphological and vocabulary. In this respect, it can be said that the work is original.

This study aims at revealing the overt coding properties and behavior-and-control properties of Subject and Object grammatical relations in Turkish. First of all, Keenan’s (1975,1976) overt marking and behavior and control properties revealed in the typological studies on Subject and Object grammatical relations will be examined briefly. Next, the properties related to Turkish will be tested in our data. Especially, serial verbs in Turkish similar to serial verbs in African languages and the occurrence of Object grammatical relation in these structures will be dealt with later in the study. In this respect random examples were selected out of a database consisting of 300 minutes of natural speech recording. The results of the study indicates that the formal distinction between Subject and Object and Direct Object and Indirect Object grammatical relations in Turkish is amply supported by overt coding properties while behavior-and-control properties play a minimal role. In parallel, the overt coding properties play a dominant role in distinguishing the grammatical relations in serial verb constructions in Turkish.

During this time, changes and transformations in social life were the subject of literary works; the mentality of the period, the mindset, culture, life, perception of religion and belief are reflected in the novels. In the novels written during this period, the social and political themes are generally covered, and superstitious beliefs showing society and the corrupt side of the individual constitute the theme and content of some novels. Therefore, fifty novels published between 1908-1923 and selected are examined around superstitious beliefs. The study focused primarily on superstitious beliefs in the introduction; information about innovation, superstition and public beliefs. Afterwards the novels that were read were analyzed in terms of superstitious beliefs under seven main topics created by the findings. As a result of the findings obtained in the results and evaluation section, a short evaluation and interpretation was made. Among the period novels published between 1908 and 1923, it is seen that some novelists, especially Huseyin Rahmi, concentrated their criticisms of religion and belief on superstition around superstition. Unfounded beliefs such as gin, fairy, amulet, talisman, evil, magic, magic and ominousness, which are mentioned in novels that bear traces of the social life of his time, continue to exist widely among the people.Roma people tend to superstition and false beliefs, either to benefit themselves or to be helpless.

FOLK LITERATURE IN MUHAMMED RASIM'S HABNAME

The elements of folk literature are the elements that reflect the social texture, beliefs and culture of the nations to which they belong. They are the folk literature motifs that determine the unity of a nation, its identity and all its qualities in the name of culture. Classical literature, on the other hand, is a deep-rooted field that has been fed by many sources with six centuries of history and has also been the source of many fields. Even though these two fields of literature fall apart in terms of form and content, they have influenced each other both in terms of thematic and form. While some poets used the verse forms of folk literature on the one hand, they maintained the tradition of divan poetry on the other. Some writers and poets have produced ideas on these two literatures which have many common themes. One of them is Muhammed Rasim. The author's Habname includes both classical and folk literature in terms of content. The author has used folklore elements skillfully in the said work, and from time to time used the literary arts to create motifs that lead to a lack of meaning. Because of his frequent use of local elements in his ghazals, he has provided sufficient language, proverbs, idioms, local subjects, customs and traditions. Even though language and style are heavy in explaining Sufism terms, it is seen that the language used in his poems is more simple. In this study, folk literature motifs and archaic elements, proverbs, idioms, aphorisms and prayers in Habname are given.

One of the most important features of manuscripts is that they provide information about the language features the period in which they were written. For Old Anatolian Turkish, for which there are two separate writing traditions as Uyghur and Arabic-Persian spellings, it is not possible to mention regular spelling and significant differences are remarkable in writing of vowels in particular. These complex spelling features are not only seen in other works written in the same century, but also within the same work based on the period when the work was written and also its content. Written in the 16th century and described as a work featuring the transition period from Old Anatolian Turkish to Ottoman Turkish, the Mu¡µnü'l-¢ assâmµn has two copies. Its both copies were written in the same period, have several specific features as in other works written in the same period and give information about language features of their period, therefore it is considerably important. In this study, which was conducted mostly based on the spelling features of Turkish words involved in the work, qualities indicating that the work is of a transitional nature were determined, then how vowels and consonants were written at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of words as well as the use of vowel diacritics were emphasized. Following details highlighting how vowels and consonants are shown, the usage of patterns such as “+dUr, içün, -gil, soñra, ki/kim” under the heading "Cursive Spelling/Heterography" was presented with examples. What kinds of vowel diacritics were used to show corrections, explanations, and examples along the edges of pages or between the lines were mentioned with examples under the heading "Corrections and Additions" at the end of the study.

20th century American literature is a period and at that period there are many writers who gave the spirit of the period in a very deep way and told that the gilded image sold to the world as the American Dream is actually a nightmare. In this period, not only the novel but also the theater became one of the most important genres in explaining the spirit of the period. The collapse of the American Dream, which is often discussed by dissident writers such as Miller and Odets, is also a popular topic for Sam Shepard, one of the most important figures in the literature of the time. Born in 1943, Shepard with his Works as Buried Child (1978), Curse of the Starving Class (1977), True West (1981) give the spirit of the time and was one of the leading names of the period. One of the works that best reflects the spirit of the period is undoubtedly the True West. The Wild West, with a superficial reading gives the story of a vicious struggle between the two brothers, actually has deep meanings with a more in-depth, structuralism or periodical reading. On the visible side of the iceberg, it is emphasized that the two brothers are transformed into oppositions, and struggle to not to transform into the father figure they cannot adopt, and on the invisible part of the iceberg it deals with the transformation, deformation, failure and collapse of modern man in the capitalist system. The contradiction of modern human being, which is reflected on the two brothers, shows the great destruction of values and judgments. While revealing the rivalry between the two brothers, Shepard gives two different sides of the West of America. On one hand, the West is the place of the cowboys that subject to the films, and on the other the same West is an area that disrupted by technological improvement. While doing this, a profile of America that is a product of success, is completely separated from each other and is the place of contrasts. In this work, the struggle of contradictions and the contradictions of modern man are presented with examples from this work.

Social, political, cultural, economic events and phenomena of a state, nation or community leave deep scars on the writers and poets of that nation. These individuals express their feelings through verbal cultural means, such as poems, requiems, novels, folk stories, myths, tales, jokes, epopees and other similar sorts of literature. Through literary genres, facts and feelings are transmitted from generation to generation. Wars are generally the primary events leading to the emergence of deep emotions. Wars are usually transmitted to humanity through the novel genre. The history of Turkish communities has passed by wars, sufferings, and oppression. Russian sovereignty had negative effect on the people in the Turkic Republics. Russian invasion caused Azerbaijani poet to write the “Çırpınırdı Karadeniz” (The Black Sea used to Swell) poem, and the World War I caused Mehmet Akif Ersoy to write the “Çanakkale Şehitlerine” (To the Martyrs of Gallipoli) poem. The Russian invasion has led Cengiz Dağcı, who is the voice of the Crimean People, to write several novels on this slavery. Dağcı, spent some of his time between the German and Russian conflict. Therefore, he reflected the deep traces of war in his novels in the best way.A great number of books, theses, articles, and presentations have been prepared about Dağcı. The author's life, work, hometown, literary personality, novels, and themes in his novels have been addressed from a scientific point of view. However, when the studies about Dağcı were examined, it was noted that Dağcı’s novel They were Human, too (Onlar da insandı) was not evaluated with a sociological approach. To address this problem, the aim of this study was to investigate "patriotism and slavery” themes in Dağcı's novel They were Human, too with a sociological approach.

In textiles, art, design and knowledge gained from science play an active role in the creation of visual features including surface effects such as color, texture and pattern. The visual properties of the interior textiles are directly related to the space where they will be used. Laura Ashley, one of the world's most beloved fashion and home furniture designers, initially made furniture materials in the 1950s, and in the 1960s she expanded her business with clothing design and production. The Laura Ashley style has been the symbol of Romantic British designs, often using a sense of countryiness from the 19th century and using natural fabrics. Laura Ashley, one of the world's most popular fashion and home furniture companies, has come from humble beginnings. Laura and Bernard Ashley couple, after the exhibition of Traditional Handicrafts by the Institute of Women in Victoria and Albert Museum in 1953, began by pressing the scarf at their kitchen table in London. They went to the libraries to learn everything about fabric printing, and they had started with a new excitement by investing £ 10 in screen printing, printing inks and linen. At first, they produced small fabrics with geometric patterns in their small flats. Laura Ashley, a British textile designer who gave her products outside the mainstream of fashion, brought a new look to fashion, interior and furniture design with her feminine silhouette and floral print designs during the reign of Queen Victoria. Laura Ashley's most outstanding work is the fashion brand of Laura Ashley, which she founded with her husband. This adventure started with scarf design has turned into a domestic production industry worth £ 200 million. The Laura Ashley brand is a global company that still operates today in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, although it has been through many difficult times and times. In this research, the history of the British designer Laura Ashley from humble beginnings to becoming a brand and style icon, Laura Ashley style and designs were discussed.

Upper Mesopotamia has been called al-Jazeera region since the ancient times and many civilizations such as Gutes, Babylonians, Assyrians, Hittites, Salafkians, Romans, Byzantines and Sasanians had ruled before the Islamic armies came to this region. The Al-Jazeera region, which had begun to Islamize during the Hz.Ömer period, was divided into three separate regions as Diyar-ı Mudar, Diyar-ı Rebia and Diyer-ı Bekir. Diyar Rebia where covers the cities named Mosul, Cizre, Silopi, Nusaybin, Tur-Abdin, Dara and Mardin had been a struggle area between the Sasanians and Byzantians then became an islamic region and international trade center on the Silk Road after the Islamic armies came.
With the beginning of the Crusades in the XIth century, the region was a field of contention between the Crusaders and the Islamic states. Ayyubids had fought with the Crusaders and the Crusaders and Ayyubids played an important role in the Middle East trade. Silk, spice and jewelleries which is the most significant trade product for the far-east was brought to Anatolian and European cities through Baghdad, Mosul and Damascus from Gulf of Basra and Egypt. Especially the Far East goods coming to Baghdad were passing through Silopi, Cizre, Nusaybin and Mardin and reached to the Istanbul with different routes. The cities on the Silk Raod well developed especially in the Ayyubids reign.

Cultural heritage assets are among the important elements that have developed as an accumulation of years and added richness to the geography to which they belong. Because of its geopolitical position, Anatolian geography has enabled many cultures to exist throughout history. Today, it is possible to say that many values of historical and cultural importance still exist throughout Anatolia. In terms of creating a sustainable tourism climate, preservation of historical and cultural assets, ensuring the balance of use and bringing these assets to tourism is extremely important. Konya, the capital of civilizations, has a rich cultural heritage in this sense. This study focuses on the approaches to tourism of the Silk Road Caravanserais as a cultural richness and the development of tourism in Konya, which is an important route for the historical Silk Road.
LAND USE AND TEMPORAL CHANGE IN KIZILIRMAK DELTA (SAMSUN) (1987-2019)

In this study, the current land use status of Kızılırmak Delta and the changes of land cover occurring in the last 33 years are discussed. The research area is subject to intensive land use depending on its location and natural environment characteristics. The aim of this study is to reveal the current land use situation of Kızılırmak Delta which is an important field both in terms of natural habitat and human and economic activities with minimum error and maximum detail and to detect and interpret the changes. From this point of view, it is aimed to make predictions for the future. For this purpose, field studies and GIS have been utilized. The current land cover of the delta was analyzed through 2019 Google Earth satellite imagery and results were checked by field studies. In order to detect the temporal change of land cover, satellite images of 1987, 2002, 2010 and 2018 were processed by controlled classification technique.
According to the findings; As of 2019, 64% of Kızılırmak Delta has been carrying out human activities such as agriculture, animal husbandry, settlement and industry. While 24% of the delta is protected areas in various statuses, the remaining elements are forest, sand dune and drainage canal. When the temporal change of land cover in Kızılırmak Delta is examined, it is seen that in the last 33 years, the elements such as settlements, roads, industrial plants have expanded its area and agricultural areas and forests have shrunk. The future of the land cover in Kızılırmak Delta; It is possible to say that wetlands, sand dunes and flooded forests can survive in the short term depend on the protected areas. However, considering that the global climate changes and sea level will continue to increase and precipitation conditions will change, the sediment budget of the delta will bedefıcit due to dams and sand pits and the coastal recession experienced in the last 33 years will continue and the wetlands will be occupied by the sea in the medium term. The river beds will shrink and the swamps around them will dry and turn into meadows. The settlements, industrial facilities and transport infrastructure in the delta will be expanded exponentially, agricultural lands and forests will be narrowed.
Based on the current situation and temporal change of the land cover in the Kızılırmak Delta, it can be said that great risks await the delta in the future. The factors such as agriculture, settlement, industrialization, transportation and infrastructure on the Kızılırmak Delta should be planned by considering all the stakeholders in the delta. The risks and advantages should be explained to the local people, and all the plans to be made should be adopted by the local people.

The 18th century, called the Enlightenment Era, brought about many social and cultural changes and developments. This century is also a period in which the modern system of fine arts emerged and, unlike the previous century, many cultural institutions appeared and began to rise in history. This century, which is very important for art and art institutions, points to a period in which not only the aristocracy but also the developing middle class wanted to connect with art. In addition to all these features, the Enlightenment in Europe has made great efforts to define female identity. For this process, it is possible to say that women, who started to appear in the “public sphere” theorized by Habermas, started to assume roles in the production of ideas, knowledge, and art. However, in the Age of Reason, the visibility of female artists is challenging, because, under the circumstances, women's opportunities to engage in art are more likely to fall into the rights of men. In fact, among the roles and rights of women defined by strict social conventions, artistry stands in a very controversial place.
Following the footsteps of female artists, this paper follows an analytical and biographical approach in terms of methodology. Considering the conditions such as social structure, cultural environment and political atmosphere of the period, this study summarizes the position of art and artist and then sheds light on the conditions and efforts of women artists to gain visibility in the art world. For this reason, the cornerstones and obstacles that the female artist encounters on her way to exist as an artist in this period, in general, were the basis of the text. Furthermore, the artistic productions, working conditions and relations with the patronage system of the professional female artists who left their mark on the period were examined by considering social factors. Therefore, in this study the main discussion encounters the efforts of female artists to step into professionalism, entering into Louvre and gaining success in Salon exhibitions, being members of academies and the dilemmas they face during this process. All these issues are stated considering the current position of the art market and the gender model of the period.

In Ottoman tombstones, male tombstones are usually hooded, while female tombstones are cristate or hooded. Headgear types such as turban, quilted turban and fez are common in male tombstones. The fez, which has a flat top and generally tasseled, was made compulsory for the civilian population in 1829 with the II. Mahmut's clothing reform. The fez used by the public was also reflected on the tombstones and was used in the 19th-20th centuries prevalently. The fez, which had been used for nearly a century, had gained different shapes with the effect of various fashions by preserving the elements that reflect the institution and status being worked. According to the mold, there are different kinds of fez like aziziye, mecîdîye, zuhafe and daily.
In this study, we evaluated a group of fez-hooded tombstones in Karacaahmet Cemetery in Istanbul. Due to the high number of historical tombstones in the Karacaahmet cemetery, we included 15 fez-shaped headstones from a group of tombstones that were identified with an inventory number of 12207-12508. While the earliest date of our samples was dated to 1830, our latest sample was dated to 1901. While 13 of the samples were sturdy, 2 of them were broken in different sizes. In 4 of the samples, there are plant and object decorations. The decorations are generally seen on the upper part of the epitaph, while in one sample it is embroidered in the kerb surrounding the epitaph. In this study, it is aimed to introduce these works in all aspects and to emphasize their importance in Turkish art.

Security, which has been one of the most basic needs of life since the existence of human beings; has vital importance with regards to the existence of people, human communities and the states. Security, which is shaped according to the requirements of each era, has gained a new dimension in our era with the effect of information and communication Technologies (ICT). These technologies have created the dimension which is called "Cyber Space". In addition to the benefits, this dimension also has many security vulnerabilities. The risks and threats posed by these vulnerabilities can occur in any environment, from the security of individuals to the security of states. Cyber attacks, targeting individuals at the begin, have expanded its target area to the public institutions of the states due to the increasing use of ICT by states. In particular, the cyber attack to a public institution can cause significant damage. Because of the significant effects of cyber attacks, states have to take measures to foresee and prevent these attacks. For this, it is important to detect, analyze and evaluate the cyber attck events that have occurred before. From this point of view, this conceptual study aims to evaluate cyber attacks, measures taken against these attacks and their effects on national security. At the end of this study, it was determined that Turkey was one of the countries exposed to the intense cyber attacks and therefore, she should continue to develop its capabilities on cyber defence.

The lands in a region can be used for different purposes according to the natural environment conditions of the area. However, it is not possible to say that each land use type is used in accordance with its potential. Especially in coastal areas, the rapid increasing of population due to the economic activities driven by different sectors has diversified the land use types. This situation brings many natural and human problems.
This study aims to analyze the land use alteration of the coastal areas between Arsuz and Dörtyol from 1987 to 2016. Data related to land use between 1987 and 2016 are obtained from related institutions and foundations and then they were regulated using ArcMap - ArcGIS 10.3 from Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. Moreover, alteration in land use was determined by field studies and satellite imagery of study area.
Results of study shows substantial alteration in land use during 30-years period in coastal areas between Arsuz and Dörtyol. While agricultural, forest, pasture and other areas under the head of sandy, stony etc. has observed as decreasing situation, residential areas has prominently observed as increasing. There is a discordance between land capability classes and land use in the research area. The favorable climatic characteristics of the area, agricultural potential, transportation facilities and increasing industrial activities caused the population to increase rapidly. This situation causes many problems such as forest destruction, infrastructure problems and environmental pollution, especially the decreasing of agricultural lands. At the end of study, solutions for determined problems are proposed.

Akşemseddin is an eminent figure, who has become famous for his role in the conquest of Istanbul, which is the beginning of a new age. As the head teacher of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, Akşemseddin surely has a lasting impression on his student and the conquering of Istanbul. He almost conditioned him for the conquest of Istanbul since his early ages. He encouraged and created solutions in the event of trouble and pessimism that occurred during the conquest. Yet, Akşemseddin, beyond his role mentioned above, is a kind of ocean with his many unknown characteristics. He wrote nineteen works throughout his life. His works are Risaletü’n- Nuriyye, Def’u Metaini’s-Sûfiyye, Risale-i Zikrullah, Risale-i Şerh-i Akval-i Hacı Bayram-ı Velî, Telhisu Def’î Metain, Makâmâtü’l- Evliyâ, Mâddetü’l-Hayat, Risâletü’d-Dua, Fâ’il-i Mushaf-ı Kerim, Nasihatnâme-i Akşemseddin, Kimyâ-yı Sa’âdet Tercümesi, Risâle Fi’t-Tasavvuf, Risâle-i Fi’d-Devrâni’s-Sûfiyye ve Raksihim, Mücerrebât, Mektûbât, Vakıf-Nâme, Risâle Fî İstilâhâti’s-Sufiyye, Cevapnâme ve Tabirnâme. Most of his books are on Sufism and religion. His work “Maddetü’l-Hayat” is on medicine and pharmacy. In this work, he makes a detailed description of “microbe”. French microbiologist Pasteur is accepted to be the first man who described the “microbe”. However, Akşemseddin comprehensively described the microbe and explained how infectious diseases passes from person to person in his mentioned work about five hundred years earlier than Pasteur. In this work, I will also dwell on eighty-three poems which are found about fifty years ago by Müjgan Jumbur, the manager of Ankara National Library, and definitely known to be written by Akşemseddin. These eighty-three poems can be accepted as his twentieth work “Akşemseddin Poetry” in addition to his previously mentioned works. We aim to put some of these poems into service of science world after we latinised them in this work. I will add original manuscript images of these poems that we obtained from National Library to the end of this work. Our ultimate aim is to publish “Akşemseddin Poetry” as a book, which was discovered fifty years ago and not published yet.

One of the leading writers of modern Arabic literature and also considered the founder of the Arabic historical novel, Corci Zeydan of Lebanese descent has contributed many works to the world of literature. Zeydan has written twenty-one historical novels, most of which describe the periods of Arab and Islamic history, such as the Umayyads, Abbasids and Ottomans. These works were the first to bring value to the novel genre by revealing the author's historicist side rather than the literaturist side. Zeydan, who wrote them with an emphasis on the educational role of the novel and in order to meet the wishes of the society, has been quite successful in this regard. In addition, Zeydan's presentation of historical events in his novels under the roof of the novel in order for the reader to learn more permanently increased his popularity among both readers and writers, and especially many writers were influenced by him and began to write historical novels.
In his historical novels, Corci Zeydan tried to reflect to the reader the experiences of both the Arab society and the people of different nationalities living in this society from yesterday to today, the paths they have come through, the level of civilization they have reached and the state of the period they were in. He particularly emphasized the elements such as language, religion, and culture that enable people to exist in society. In this context, in our study, by examining both the real and fictional main characters of Corci Zeydan's three prominent novels within the social structure, we will try to see both their relationships with each other and their reflections on society and the social framework of the period in which these characters lived.
