In the vocabulary of the dialects of Giresun and Ordu, which are located in an important geography of Turkishness, there are significant regional words belonging to each concept area. It can be seen that many of these words have been used since the historical periods of Turkish language. It is understood that some of the vocabulary that has fallen out of use in general Turkish and have been forgotten can still be found in the dialects of Giresun and Ordu region. With the determination of the concept areas in the vocabulary, which is one of the elements that reflect the cultural texture of a nation or community in the most clear way, the world view, beliefs, lives, socio-economic conditions and so on of the community. It is also possible to make comments on. In our study, the words which are included in the concept areas of hazelnut were examined in the vocabulary of the dialects of Giresun and Ordu region. Hazelnuts, which have a very important place in the life of the local people, and the names developed within the framework of hazelnut production are also important for the vocabulary of Turkish language. In this study, a general picture of vocabulary used in this area will be revealed by classifying words specific to hazelnut names and hazelnut conceptual field in the dialects of Giresun and Ordu region. It will be possible to have information about hazelnut names vocabulary and culture of local people in hazelnut conceptual field. It is also thought that the words in this conceptual field will contribute to the vocabulary of Turkish. In this study, 322 words in hazelnut and hazelnut concept in Giresun and region vocabulary are examined under various headings and some interpretations are made on the data obtained. In the study, 204 words of Giresun and its region were determined from 7 words and 118 words were determined from Ordu and its region. },author={Feridun TEKİN-Samet CANTÜRK},year={2019},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science Studies}}
