Abstract

That women/young girls experience their subjectivity in daily life and transfer of their feminine roles, reproduced and re-reproduced within social life both outside and in the home, through cultural discourses appear as an important social problem. Configuration of gender identities starting from home towards social life is a process which shape personal and social taste, the form of self-expression, social status and daily experiences of women/young girls. Moving from this point, the study focuses on two major objectives; one of them is the problem of how gender role expectations, produced through intra-familial relations which are effective in the determination of subjective identities of young girls between the ages of 18-24, are transferred. The second one is to put forward through their own perspectives how young girls interpret intra-familial cultural discourses and in which contexts they reproduce the proposed definitions of femininity in the daily life. While young girls present in their accounts how they experience daily life with their perspectives, how they want to transform the space of inside home which forms the core of feminine identity has call to the future quality. For this purpose, in-depth interview technique, used in qualitative researches, has been employed. Families of lower and higher socio-economic and cultural qualities of Ankara comprise the participative group of the research.
