In this context, early Arab poetry has been an important source both in language in general and in true understanding and interpretation of the Holy Qur’an in particular. Indeed, when we consider the impact of poetry on the systematization of grammar and the importance of grammar on the Qur’anic exegesis it is evident that the poetry has been in the service of Quranic exegesis. Early examples of the process of testifying with poetry has started in the time of the Prophet’s Companions and become highly widespread during the second century of the Hegira. This testifying method with poetry has ben maintained in a detailed manner in later periods by improving linguistic rules and terms. Indeed, Qurtubî widely employed the method of testifying by poetry in his famous work, el Jâmi’ li-Ahkâmi’l-Qur’ân.
