The activities of the Yoruk Culture Research and Application Centers and student communities established in the universities in recent years and the Yoruk Turkmen feast have attracted public attention. Yoruk Turkmen feast is made for increasing the social and cultural solidarity in the city centers in high plateau, which offer extremely good opportunities in terms of natural environment conditions. The purpose of this study is to examine the traditional characteristics of alternative tourism, which emphasize the importance of feast, which is an outcome of socio - cultural life characteristics of Yoruk Turkmen tribes. Within the scope of the study, it is aimed to introduce the Yoruk Türkmen’s traditional features to wider masses by evaluating feast within the scope of alternative tourism and to hand on this cultural heritage value to the future generations in a way that has not undergone culture erosion. Qualitative research methods were adopted in the study and face-to-face interviews, group interviews and participant observation were conducted in order to collect data. The interviews were conducted with elderly members of Yoruk tribes. After collecting data, office work has been performed and all the data obtained were combined with the existing literature and transferred to the conclusion of the study. It has been determined that Yoruk Turkmen feast is an important cultural heritage value that should be hand on next generation. The feast has the traditional features that can be used as alternative tourism types such as culture tourism and rural tourism. However, in recent years, feasts have been found to cause cultural erosion of some of the functional changes and disruptions that have been experienced, and threaten the characteristics of game sustainability and alternative tourism. The study was ended by presenting solution proposals to the problems identified within the scope of the research.},author={Fatih USLU-- Şakir FURAL},year={2017},journal={The Journal of Academic Social Science Studies}}
