Abstract

Shopping is an important part of tourism and it is also an important motivation tool. However, it is one of the important activities performed by tourists. The characteristics of places such as shops, bazaars and shopping centers that serve tourism in destinations are important factors on the level of satisfaction of tourists in their shopping experiences. This research was conducted to determine the satisfaction levels of tourists visiting Marmaris. The population of the study consists of foreign tourists visiting Marmaris and shopping. According to the results of the research, while tourists find the physical characteristics and product characteristics and accessibility of shopping places most relevant to shopping places in their shopping experiences; they find communication with the customer less adequate. The effect of the factors related to the adequacy of the shopping places on the general satisfaction levels are product characteristics and accessibility and physical characteristics of the store / market in order of importance; it was determined that the communication with the customer did not have a significant effect on the satisfaction levels of tourists regarding shopping.
