Abstract

The thing that adds richness of narration to proverbs is no doubt usage of them in the right time and right place. Things a book cannot narrate are told by proverbs in short and brief. Sometimes they appear as the best lines of a poem, sometimes as graffitis they take their places in our minds and sometimes they decorates the headings of newspapers. With this aspect,it puts the cultural memory into words skillfully and thus mirrors the society. Although they are verbal literature products, when studied structurally, it is seen that all the verbs forming a proverbs come together in an order not randomly. And that shows the society forming the proverbs has the common memory and consideration system and this memory and consideration system shows its affect on the syntax. In general, syntax that comes together within a common frame of structure can be described as structure in use. Some effective elements of harmony such as rhyme and repeating words are important factors for proverbs using several figures of speech. As much as these elements of harmony we shouldn’t ignore contribution of structures in use to effective narrating. It is possible to see some structures in use which are also effective narrating elements or proverbs at the very beginning or end. These structures can be named as ıntroductory and ending structures and they can also be seen in some other folk literature narrative styles such as riddles, folk tales, tongue twisters and jokes.Structures which are formed by common mind and culture is the indication of richness of narration and flexibility of a language. In this study ,by determining introductory and ending sturctures that place at the beginning and ending of proverbs It will be stressed on formation of these structures and these structures will be classified among themselves.
