Abstract

Due to the external factors such as religion, every Muslim has a sense of belonging to Arabic since it is the language of Qur'an used by the Prophet when addressing to people around him. Arabic is the language of Islam through which Arab and non-Arab Muslims conduct in-depth studies to understand Qur'an and Hadith. As the language of religion, Arabic is taught in countries such as Turkey, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Pakistan, Malaysia and Senegal. This study attempts to explore the impact of Arabic textbooks used in the Faculties of Theology on Arabic language teaching and how much these textbooks meet the need for achieving the goals and aims of the course. The significance of the book in Arabic teaching for foreign students results from the fact that students studying in divinity faculties have established a strong tie with the book over time. These kind of books have a positive impact on language education because of subjects to be wide to encompass all areas of life, enriching students with interesting information in a way and volume. Here, textbook refers to the material that is used to gain scientific and educational benefits, and designed to contain desired knowledge. Textbooks are not only important for achieving the aims of curricula, but they are also an indispensable tool for teaching the lesson in a healthy and reliable way, conforming to productivity practices and complying with educational methods and techniques more efficiently. The study finally presents findings and recommendations on the textbooks that are considered useful in improving students' language skills.
